two of the women were found on a trail ... that does make their deaths seem more likely to be random to me
It seems that way, but the connection to the third woman sounds more domestic. Fortunately, authorities probably know who did it.

Appears to not be the case IMO.

Articlefrom 5 Match 2026:

Because the suspect is from my region (Iowa) it's a big story here. It's still unknown what he was doing in Utah, and/or if he had any connection to the victims.

This story does say that the two women on the trail were found BY THEIR HUSBANDS. What a nightmare for them.

They need to find out where he's lived and visited in the past, and look into any unsolved homicides. I think we've got a serial killer here.

yes to looking into other cases, but this seems like a spree

wonder what on earth he meant by "it had to be done". the police said there is no connection between the three victims. did he at least know them? do they have some demographic in common? ...maybe just that they're all women??

According to the YouTube video, he said “it had to be done” in order to steal the victims’ cars. That doesn’t make a lot of sense, because how many cars could he drive at one time? MOO

I wonder if the two women discovered on the hiking trail were related/with one another.

Gary Brian, the owner of Brian Auto Parts, said he got a call at about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday to pick up a vehicle that hit an elk on Highway 24.

He picked up the customer — later identified as Miller — and towed him back to where he was staying at the Snuggle Inn at about midnight.

"He visited with me; he was just a normal person," Brian said.

Miller allegedly killed three women — two at a trailhead and one in her home — for money and cars about four days after he hit the elk.

According to Brian, Miller said he was just traveling through Utah but "didn't act like he knew anyone here."

"He didn't act like someone that would do that," Brian added. "He just acted like a normal person that I towed."

Miller's car was totaled, but he reportedly told Brian he was going to get a ride with his "brother" back to work.
