I was totally unprepared for this verdict and can only imagine there’s a lot more to this story. Assuming that this nine year old girl was a virgin, it seems more than strange that she could have been both gang-raped and sodomised without any physical evidence of such a traumatic event.
I’m sorry that this is graphic, but with the forceful rape by three men of a child, one would expect to find reddening or inflammation with abrasion, bruising or laceration of external genitals or vagina and the hymen possibly showing several lacerations. There may also be tearing of the perineum into the anus.
If these men were guilty, it’s really hard to believe that a doctor found no marks of violence on her body or about the genitals and no evidence of recent vaginal penetration or recent sexual intercourse.
Whether they were guilty or not, I’m still flabbergasted.
