Provo police searching for missing man

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 41-year-old man who was last seen New Year’s Eve.

Andrew Gulledge went missing around 11 p.m.

Authorities say he is native to North Salt Lake, but was last seen in downtown Provo at the Marriott.

He is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and approximately 180 pounds.

Anyone with information on Gulledge’s whereabouts has been asked to call 801-852-6210.

41-year-old Andrew Gulledge was last seen on December 31 around 11 p.m. He was caught on surveillance video leaving the Marriott in Provo and was staying with a friend. He did not tell anyone where he was headed at the time.

She says while he does like to night hike, she doesn’t know why he left with hardly any supplies.

Marriott provided her with surveillance video of him leaving the hotel on Friday night. In the video, he is wearing a backpack but she says he left behind a heavy coat in the room.

Lesley says despite them being separated, they are on good terms, and she loves him and wants to know he’s okay.

It was New Year’s Eve when Gulledge, a married man and father of two suddenly walked away from his family.

“My husband and I are currently separated,” said Lesley Gulledge. “But we were on very good terms and we have two kids together.”

But that weekend Gulledge said her husband planned on being with a family friend and spend the night in Provo.

That night he also abandoned his friend while staying at the Provo Marriott hotel in the downtown area. Surveillance video showed Gulledge leave the lobby and walk out the north side of the hotel.

“He wasn’t in the greatest state of mind from what I understand and in my conversations with him earlier in the night,” she said. “But he just decided to go for a walk (or a) hike. He wasn’t totally clear.”

To Note:
On social media, friends posted his image. Some claimed “he may be headed to Santa Fe” New Mexico.
His wife said he went there in December and left his vehicle there. She said there was some thought he may have returned there to retrieve the vehicle. But so far, there’s been no sign of him there.

Others on social media acknowledged that he’s suffering from a “mental health crisis.” Gulledge said that is a possibility.

His own sister posted Andrew may now be wearing a “shortened beard.” Despite the push to find him, there has been no leads.

He may be heading to Salt Lake City or New Mexico. He frequents Salt Lake City in the area of 300 South to 1300 South and 300 West. Gulledge does not have a vehicle but may have traveled by train, bus or Uber or might have hitchhiked.
