BTW, I'm totally thinking of changing my screen name to "BoredAssWannabeDetective". It has a certain ring to it!

Lol wanna be detectives? Ok!! A little judgemental considering the forum they belong to.

The lack of shoes had me seriously doubting she was riding the train. Unless she was riding with someone else who discovered her deceased and took her shoes and whatever belongings she may have had.

The prostitiute theory is interesting but a prostitute dressed like she was would be a street walker or one that frequented truck stops. So wouldn't she have shoes on?

The original post was like

"I didn't come here to insult you so I'm not sure why you're insulting me. There's no need for you to be rude. I like to solve cases of unidentified people much like you enjoy squatting in homeless camps."

And then I realized I shouldn't go into their territory and be a B, it'd be like biting the hand that feeds me. He may or may not uncover it here but hey, posting here is much more passive-aggressive LOL

I think I'm gonna agree with abandoning the hitching angle, plus the responses are seemingly more sarcastic and unhelpful sooo .. brainstorming anyone? Maybe she was thrown on the train as it passed and the perp got "lucky" and she somehow got caught on something?

Misadventure? She and a friend go to the top of the train to use drugs? She OD's, the friend bails and takes her shoes?

We need the COD!

I actually think these guys are being helpful, considering their attitude and the fact that they seem a little insulted and territorial. Astridxx, is it possible to post the Namus link or report there so they have more details? I think the one guy asked what kind of train car (it's a tanker car and the train ran nonstop). Thank you for posting there! Perhaps we will have converted them to Wannabe Detectives by the end of this.

Maybe she was just desperate, for whatever reason(s) to just get out of town as fast as possible and she didn't care how and just hopped a train, spur of the moment, without any past experience or thought. I have even thought about doing it at times when I was fed up with stuff, just to get away and go anywhere but where I was.

Or she could have just been really high and not even fully aware of what she was doing, or had some serious mental health issues that caused her to act erratically.

Maybe she was even trying to run from someone who was after her, weather real or imagined.

Or maybe someone else was with her, and they killed her or maybe just took some of her heavier clothing such as a coat and shoes and abandoned her atop the train leaving her helpless to the elements. Such a horrible thing to consider, but still must be considered. If only we knew a cause of death, that is so important right now.

Riding a train all alone through the desert is so scary sounding, and such a lonely place to die. =[

I think at some point I theorized that she went up on the train (by choice or was put there) after it arrived in Utah. Namus says she was discovered about two hours after it arrived. I'd want to know what the train yard was like (could she sneak in?) but it seems possible that she didn't even ride the train at all.

Thank you! I think we can discount our hitching theory but perhaps they have insight on how she could get up there in the first place.

No one has contacted the sheriffs office about COD right? If not I will do so tomorrow.

I still believe she is a traveler or homeless trying to get somewhere. If you google train hopping, there are many pics of people dressed very simular. As for the possibility she didn't get on in LV, that is a possibility. As I've said, where's her stuff and her shoes?? She could have been pushed on to the top from an over pass also. I didn't notice any marks on her neck like strangulation or anything but she could have been pushed.

So is Highwayman implying on the squater planet forum that train hoppers are Ivy league college grads who dropped out from their wall street jobs and hop trains to go to starbucks?

He seems rather negative and demeaning towards her like she's beneath them.

Yeah, I was thinking about the bounce and roll too.

They were kind of mean, but at least their horror/condescension/amusement might lead us away from train hopping. I was all into that theory too. Back to the drawing board!

I wouldn't completely rule out a train surfer quite yet. Maybe she was an independent type that didn't belong to the group. We're ruling it out based mostly on one person's opinion, which I respect very much, but don't necessarily want to accept as gospel.

It's interesting to note the comment about the lack of rust on her clothes. That might be the clue which tells us she didn't voluntarily climb aboard. But then, she couldn't have gone far without falling off.

Great work, guys!

I wonder whether her stuff was in one of the boxcars on the train and she climbed up on the tank car to get a better view -- sort of like an observation deck. She might not have realized how chilly it was and died of hypothermia.

Could have been some medical condition to. She did look really thin, lack of food could have damaged organs I would assume.

Right? It's like they don't want to be associated with her. There seems to be an attitude (not just there but on some Facebook pages I've seen) of pride among a certain group of train hoppers and squatters like they're better than the rest of us because they're smart enough to not work.

But I do think it's interesting that they immediately ruled her out as a train hopper based on her appearance. Like, they're dirty but healthy and she's dirty and looks sick or like an addict or something. They remarked on her teeth like many of us here did at first. So bad dental care is noticeable even to squatters, I guess.

I do like that the one guy showed the tat to his wife. So Astridxx has gotten them talking about our UID, which can only be a positive thing.

Yeah, one guy said she could be a transient but not a train hopper. In that culture, there is probably a distinction between the two. Like, she's not part of that community, maybe. But you're right, she still could have ridden the train.
