UT - Child abuse case leads to NV murder suspects

  • #21
I can't read the article today. There was so much in the news yesterday, it was totally overwhelming.

However - I really think we need tougher laws for the female in these situations along with the male. I do not think the female should get a slap on the wrist because her "boyfriend made her do it" or "she was scared" anymore.

Having come from a home with domestic abuse issues, I used to buy into this "defense." BUT NO MORE. If you can carry the baby to term and elect not to put the child up for adoption or have an abortion - then you are responsible for keeping that child SAFE. And if you WILL not do so, then you are just as guilty for any harm that befalls that child. (Please note I said will not as opposed to can not).

In this day and age, there is absolutely NO excuse for not recognizing that you are in a relationship that is bad for your child(ren). NO EXCUSE.

Salem

Hi Salem, beautifully put and I totally agree with you. Mom here deserves the same punishment as he gets.

I hope that someone took the little year old baby to a dr. and had him checked out really well. I don't see how he escaped abuse when the other baby was murdered and this baby has every bone in its body broken. What did this couple do...have a baby every 9 months just so they would have someone to abuse? The family thought he seemed nice...what about her..she is just a bad but it must have been her family speaking. I hope these two both burn in hell.

I hope so, too, Bobbi. I wonder if the first baby died from the same type of injuries as the one in the hospital. You have to think of that strange bone disease which is genetic and rule that out. There have been some cases where the parents were charged and they were innocent.

http://www.dundee.ac.uk/medther/tay...e_bone_disease.htm#What%20is osteogenesis

What is osteogenesis imperfecta?

Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is the most common disease causing fractures in childhood. It also causes fractures in adults. OI is a genetic disorder usually resulting from abnormalities of the genes that control the production of a protein known as collagen; this is the main protein in bone and essential for its strength. The fragility of bone in OI is due to the collagen problems; it has nothing to do with the calcium part of bone which is what shows on x-rays.

How common are fractures?

Some OI children are born with fractures that have taken place in the womb. Others have their first fractures soon after birth or several years later. Some people with OI have so few fractures in childhood that the correct diagnosis is not made. Fractures are difficult to predict, especially in childhood. Some occur with normal handling. Some occur with so little trauma that the usual signs of a fracture may not be seen and the fracture is not identified till some weeks or months later when an x-ray is done for another reason. The bones do not always behave in a brittle way; fractures may fail to occur when expected from an injury. The reason for these variations is quite unknown.

The thought did cross my mind for about a second, what if baby had that bone disease? But, the 🤬🤬🤬 Williams admitted he was rough with the baby, picking her up by the arm, legs and squeezing her chest. "Rough" what an understatement, broken bones throughout her little body. I'd like break every bone in this man & womans body, :furious: she's as bad as he is IMHO.

This is what led me past the bone disease-who picks up a newborn this way without expecting to inflict serious damage? Buh-bye Mr. Big Man whose stomps on babies, and the egg donor as well...:furious:

Yeah, you're right. He did admit being "rough".

It makes me so mad that this baby suffered for weeks and maybe months before medical attention was sought. I still want to know what happened with their baby who died in another state.

The only thing I could find out is that Thomas Ryan Williams is in the Utah DOC system. They don't give any other information. Lupe Perez is not in the system. She is not at the county jail either.
