Yes, I guess I should have asked if there is something about the event this weekend that is relevant to the case. ? Sorry I wasn't clear. MOO

5 months after murder. What seems like a cold case. Widower is launching product in decedent’s memory.

Don’t know if that is relevant to the case. Just thought it was interesting.

It was a beautiful gesture and focusing all of his energy on launching this in Momo’s memory is probably the only thing that has kept him getting out of bed every day.

Bottom line is it is an unsolved murder with very strange circumstances. Not a “clean” case. The killer is still on the loose.

Seems really, really weird.

You have the husband and his ex who were in a bad custody battle so that puts the ex in the frame maybe not as the killer but possibly to have hired a professional hit. But you would think the primary target would be Jeff not Maureen if this was the case. So it was botched?

Outside of the ex wife. Who else would have a beef with both Jeff and Maureen to try to kill both of them? This seems like it would be fairly easy to identify. In this scenario it would have to have been someone who knew them both and wanted them dead. Who could this possibly be? Really? Who would want to kill Mo? Anyone who knew her would understand how incomprehensible this is.

Finally there is the possibility the husband set it up to make it look like a hit on both of them but in reality it was a murder with an alibi. I know people don’t like this scenario. I know it probably makes some people angry that I would even write it down. However, statistically most young women who are killed are murdered by someone who is intimate with them. Not what anyone wants to think or hear but it is a remote possibility.

I really wish this was solved. Maureen was such a sweet person.

I look for news on this case every day.
I was friends with Maureen in high school, though I haven’t really seen her since then.
She was such a bright light. I wish I knew more...

Welcome to Websleuths, Beatrice. I’m sorry for the loss that has brought you here.

I hope LE have something to work with to eventually solve this crime.

Every time I see something new has posted on this thread I click w/hope there’s finally news of an arrest. Or progress. Or some acknowledgment from LE that they give enough of a damn to at least be trying. But no ......

Maybe someday.

I'll bump this one in hopes of new ideas and fresh insight. This case really needs it, it seems.

Thanks for the photos PT! I’m just flipping thru them now....there looks to be easy access to their back yard and so many places to hide back there. Wonder about the lighting also, if it was sufficient. I guess it really doesn’t matter now but I can’t help think about those things knowing what happened.

ETA beautiful home

Also, previous post said “shotgun, sliding glass door shattered.” Killer may have just waited on the top deck. Sliding glass doors open into kitchen. From pics you can see outside and inside that part of the home.

Ya, I do recall the sliding door mentioned and that looks to be the easiest access obviously I guess, other than a window. As I remember back, wasn’t the husband shot while coming down the stairs? Am I remembering correctly? It’s been so long since I read up on this case, I need a refresher.

ETA I’m going back to view the entrance u mentioned.

I was thinking the shooter fired from outside, but maybe I am wrong. Was the shooter all the way inside the house?

...don’t know if the shooter entered the house.
Something about shattered glass and spent shotgun shells found outside...leads you to believe killer was outside.
Nevertheless, it’s speculative.

When I get time later I will go thru the first part of the thread. There’s so much i don’t remember.....

Shot from outside through glass doors into the kitchen- the shattering of that glass is what triggered the alarm.
