GUILTY UT - Destiny Norton, 5, Salt Lake City, 16 July 2006

"Destiny lived in a small ranch house with her mother, who is eight months pregnant, father Ricky, and about 10 other couples and friends who have banded together for economic reasons. The little girl slept in a corner of the basement."

So, this means that about 23 people lived in a small ranch house??? :waitasec: :waitasec: :waitasec:

That article is a misprint. There are 3 couples (including Destiny's parents) living there as well as 4 children (Including Destiny and her younger sister Trinity)

I just wanted to post this little <snip> from the article that harleysnana (Thank you for the article harleys) posted the link for above so people know who police are looking for now.

<snip>

We've been told that his name is 'Three Finger Mac,' " Scharmann said. "The other person we'd like to talk to goes by 'Bubbles.' We'd like to talk to him as well. They are not suspects. They are persons with intelligence we'd like to talk to."

As Scharmann was asking about them, a man pointed out "Three Finger Mac." Officers swarmed around him and questioned him for more than an hour at a park table, showing him pictures of Destiny. He answered questions while strumming a guitar with his right hand, which is missing two fingers.
"They asked me what I seen Sunday. What I knew — if anything," said Three Finger Mac. "I gave them all the information that I know which is, well, pretty much nothing."
Police said they have not been able to locate "Bubbles," who also goes by the name "Bubble Man." Drum circle attendees told the Deseret Morning News the man has been a regular fixture at Liberty Park, attracting children with a machine that creates bubbles. He has not been seen at the circle for weeks.
"Mr. Bubbles has always got kids around him," said Katie Taylor, who was questioned by police. "He is kind of a weird guy."
FBI Special Agent Bob Wright would not say if the men were considered "persons of interest" in the case.
"A number of good pieces of information have been developed," he said Sunday.

Destiny Anne Norton, the Missing Little Princess From Salt Lake City

By Tori Richards July 24, 2006

SALT LAKE CITY, Ut. (Crime Library) — Destiny Norton is just 5 years old, but pretty savvy. She knew the dangers of crossing a busy street and had learned that bad people existed in this world who would steal her if she didn't stay close by her family.

But that's exactly what happened on July 16 as she played in the yard outside her downtown Salt Lake home. Family and friends are devastated, as they realize Destiny would never voluntarily leave home or go with a stranger.

This is a good article on Destiny. It also explains the green streaks in her hair on the second page. It's something any kid might do, lol!

If there were that many adults living in this house, why was she playing outside at night? Someone please help me understand why this would happen.

The only thing I can add about this is that at 8:30PM it was still light outside. The backyard was fenced in and I know many parents wouldn't even think twice about letting their child out to play in the fenced backyard area. I'm not saying it's right I'm just saying that many parents think their child should be safe in their own backyard.

Thank you for solving the mystery of the green hair. Yes, it does sound like typical kid behavior. I never dyed my own hair when I was young, but I did swallow pennies and got a bead stuck up my nose. LOL!

I didn't dye my hair but I did give my best friend a NICE haircut, lol! She had no bangs for awhile. LOL, your mention of sticking a bead up your nose brought back memories. My sister stuck a marble up her nose and had to go to the hospital to get it out...funny thing is she was in her 20's when that happened, lol!

I put red food coloring streaks in my hair - suffered the nickname Pink for a long time. And my little sis gave her bangs a cut for my graduation - a very steep angled cut :) And way too funny about your 20yo sis!!

Yeah a couple of years ago my girls who are 9 and 11 now stuck beanie baby balls in there ears. Probably early in the school year and they didn't tell anyone about it. Then in april the were at my aunts running from the kitchen to the living it was like a giant circle and the ended up running smack dab into one another and my oldest got a big goose egg right between her eyes so I took them to the doctor. He said she has something in her ears and then that is when the story came out. They got them out and till this day I still refuse anything with beads or anything like that in the house.....LOL they say we know better now mom, but I just don't want that to happen again

Well I hope that some parents who still think that read this story and realize that children are NOT safe outside by themselves.

Jeana
Most people dont follow crime news and crime statistics. Crime hasnt touched thir lives etc. They grew up playing outside and their children play outside. When I go through my neighborhood in the evening their are children playing in their yards or out riding their bikes. Children at the park. When my children were kids they played in the back yard till dark. They rode their bikes and played hide and seek with the neighbor kids.

I'm also sorry. I took Punk to mean "punk" as a bad thing. Punk rocker is cool by me. So again, sorry for the outburst, I'm just being protective mama. :D

No worries, it was my fault for not clarifying what I meant. I would never call a child a name like that, but you were right to defend your children. :blowkiss:

Waiting for an important announcement from the FBI and the SLC Police. Could happen at any minute.

I just spoke with someone close to the family and the family has no idea what the announcement is.

Ok now we know.

From the sighting last night there is a composite sketch with a partial plate number on a black truck.

Thank you Tricia for posting this. Seems like they had the wrong truck last night and are still searching for the black truck. They will probably have a sketch up of the driver soon.

Here is a link that tells a bit about the truck they are looking for.
