I find a couple of things very odd. First of all, she has been missing for 9 days. It looks like he would have removed her body from the house to avoid being found. Why would he just leave her there unless he wanted to get caught. Maybe he got some sick thrill knowing that she was right under their noses.

I also found it odd that his wife, Cadie, was still living there according to what she told reporters. Maybe you would not go to the basement. However, if a child was missing in your backyard and your husband had been back there, wouldn;t you check your house. I know that LE normally asks all neighbors to check their houses in cases such as this. Also, her body would had to have started to decompose by this point and it looks like there would have been an odor.

I suppose much of this will come out in the coming days, but something just sounds a little off to me at the moment.

OK, I'm not blaming the police here. But I do have one question. Don't you think him refusing them to search should have been a red flag??? I'm really not sure how long a search warrant takes to get OR if they could get one based alone on the fact that he refused to let them search the house. But to me that is a HUGE red flag. A little girl is missing and you won't let the police search your house? That should have put the police on alert with this guy, am I off base here?
I think any reasonable person would allow and even encourage a search. Hindsight is 20/20, but just because he did not allow them to search, I don't think is a red flag. The police stated that the refusal alone was not enough for them to get a warrant. In this area, I wouldn't be surprised if many people refused a search.

I wonder if Destiny was not there the whole time. The police did take Craig Gregersons car.

I'm not sure about the wife, when the arrest was made, they said Craig Gregerson was the sole occupant of the house.

But from what I understand (correct me if I am wrong) she went out into the back yard and the yard had a fence....I am not sure what time of night this was but I don't find it that unusal unless the parents went to bed and left her out side....I have let my children play in our fenced backyard at night many times...
A 5 year old? Unsupervised?
I'm sorry but children, especially those under 8 should not be outside by themselves.

As far as who lived in the house is very confusing to me also! I have read it was vacant and also that Craig lived there alone. Then I read Cadie is a neighbor. Maybe Craig and Cadie were separated and he was seldom home!

No not unsupervised!!!!!!! My children are grown and married now...and they were never alone...Thank you.....I never said they were alone..:waitasec: But they did play outside in our yard usually with neighborhood children....

My heart goes out to these people. I just do not understand how the wife said she came over as soon as she heard, talked to the mother, took her own child home, and then went out to search. When the entire time Destiny was probably somewhere on her property? Didn't she call out to her husband and tell him what was happening? He would have had to stay with the child, or come along for the search. It doesn't make any sense at all. I guess these things don't.

Prayers for Destiny and her family.

I wasn't necessarily refering to your children, but it was your post I quoted where you didn't think it was unusual for the child to be outside.
I responded that a 5 year old outside by herself is very different than leaving your kids outside with other people around.

That's all I meant.

My guess is he couldn't get the body out. The neighborhood was being searched constantly.

Thanks for the post. No offense taken.
I just didn't want you to think I was referring to you and your children. :)

Prayers for Destiny's family. I hope there is justice for this and that Destiny's little soul may rest in peace.

I'm with the people that think not letting someone search your residence during a missing-child investigation would bring up a BIG red flag. Especially when the house is right next door to the missing child's home. BIG red flag.

This guy is sick. His mug shot is posted on this link and he appears to be smiling.

Also, the probable cause statement is posted here as well:

Probable Cause StatementReleased by the Salt Lake Police Department, July 25, 2006.
On July 16th, 2006, Craig Roger Gregerson observed juvenile female named [redacted] outside his residence in Salt Lake County, Utah.
Suspect Gregerson opened the gate to his backyard and lured the juvenile female into his residence.
The juvenile female began to scream. Suspect Gregerson put his hand over the juvenile's mouth and began to squeeze. The juvenile female went limp and suspect Gregerson laid her body on the floor.

Just a sick sick person. How could anyone do that to a sweet little child??

I really hope that this is all that happened to her, not anything else. I hope this isn't like sweet little Jessica Lunsford.

He had to be acting freaky all this time, don't you think? Someone had to notice something strange.

I would think so! I find it very strange that his wife said she came over and talked to the mother "right away", went home and dropped her own child off and then joined the search. Wasn't she telling him what was going on outside? Wouldn't he have had to stay w/ their own child? It doesn't make sense, unless they lived on the same street but different houses.

I also don't understand cause of death. He held his hand over her mouth and squeezed? What did that do? Sorry to be morbid, but did he break her neck? Strangle her? I don't get it??

It does look like he's smirking, doesn't it?

I think he's lying about what happened.

Wow, she was out helping to search for Destiny, all the while Destiny was in Cadie's basement. That must be freaking her out.
Hi Shopper:

Are we sure that Craig and Cadie lived in the same house....for some reason I thought not but may have missed a report that they lived together...I thought the house looked abandoned....you would think it wouldn't if Craig, Cadie and Lilly all lived together in the same house :waitasec:
