JUAB COUNTY, Utah, April 23, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Juab County Sheriff officials are seeking tips from the public after a woman said she was headed to a neighboring ranch to work, and has not been seen since.

Elizibeth Green, who goes by Lizzy, was last seen on Wednesday of last week, April 17. Officials say she never arrived at the ranch she said she was headed for.

**Error in location in title. Should be Callao, not Calico.

Still missing. Her family is quoted by LE as saying that she has MH issues and has left before, but has always returned in a day or two.

CALLAO, Utah (KUTV) — A Utah woman reported missing more than a month ago was last seen in an "extremely rural" community in the west desert of Juab County.

****
According to Simmons (her mother,) Elizibeth, who is 21, was last seen in Callao, Utah — a community with a handful of homes and ranches. Simmons said Elizibeth was last seen walking to a nearby ranch where she was starting a new job.

According to a search warrant filed by the Juab County Sheriff's Office for access to Elizibeth's communication devices and associated social media accounts, the Juab County Search and Rescue team dispatched to the area on April 18 to begin looking for Elizibeth.

*****
"Based on the information that we have received, we are concerned about the possibility that Elizibeth is in danger of serious bodily injury or death," the warrant states. "It is unknown if Elizibeth is in danger and lost in the vast desert, or if someone that she was communicating with met with her and is holding her against her will."

JUAB COUNTY, Utah, May 23, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A missing Juab County woman’s case has picked up new media attention as the search has gone beyond a month.

*****
In the last 24 hours, People magazine and the New York Post have run stories on Green. Her mother, Vanessa Simmons, has been seeking help and sharing info on her Facebook page, even posting her phone number at one point. Friends have responded by sharing the case online throughout Utah and even as far away as Boston and Alabama.

*****
Simmons shared additional details about her daughter, such as she was walking to work at her new job at nearby Parker Ranch when she disappeared. Green has a mole on her left cheek, sometimes wears glasses, and her eyes can be hazel as well as green, changing colors with contacts “depending on what she’s wearing,” says her mother. As she said yesterday, “If anybody knows anything, please reach out.”

Elizabeth Green, 21, went missing in Juab County, Utah last month, according to the sheriff’s office. Officials say the location she vanished in is “three hours” from any major city.
Female rancher, 21, disappears on way to rural job

Authorities were told by people close to Elizabeth that she suffers from mental health issues and has previously run away.

The young woman went missing last month, and a search and rescue team was dispatched to search the area she was spotted in on April 18.

'This area of our county is approximately three hours away from any major cities and requires travel on dirty roads,' it states.

'SAR searched the area between her home and the ranch she was going to work at.

'They also searched in a grid pattern around the area. They were unable to locate Elizabeth or anything to determine where she could have gone.'

Juab County Sheriff's Office examined the ranch where Elizabeth was set to work before she disappeared.

Her family told investigators that she would always return home and communicate within a day.

New info in here about her wanting to move to Omaha and that PINs on her money apps were changed in the morning. I'm feeling a little hopeful that this is a 21 year old trying to break away and maybe didn't know the right way to go about it. Fingers crossed she is ok and will find a way to let them know!

The search for a woman who vanished from a small Utah town in April 2024

he Juab County Sheriff’s Office filed search warrants for Green’s social media accounts and phone records. According to Simmons, there has been no activity on Green's accounts since the day she was reported missing.

“People don’t just disappear without a trace, they just don’t. So this is why it’s so scary and so confusing that there’s nothing,” Simmons said.

There are a number of theories that have been floated out regarding Green’s disappearance, but investigators haven’t confirmed if anything has come to fruition.

From above msn
  • Lizzywas making her mum a coffee and that wasn’t real normal according to the latter, but she seemed really happy and really excited for the new job
  • K9s never picked up a scent of Lizzy
  • Lizzy didn’t enjoy living in Callao
  • she was talking to a lot of people online
  • She was using a dating site that you can only get through to this link that’s hidden on a profile and it was just very eye opening to her family
  • The FBI is involved

Based on the revelation of her use of a “secret” dating app, her known dislike for living in Callao (a town of 50 people), her “excited” demeanor on the day she disappeared, her last act of kindness to her mother (making her a coffee - deemed unusual), and her insistence on walking alone to her new job (all of which relayed by her mother in the linked article), I do wonder if her disappearance was (at least initially) voluntary. MOO.

She was using a dating site that you can only get through to this link that’s hidden on a profile and it was just very eye opening to her family
Do we know what this means, either more general info. or specific? What site? What link? Why is this so surprising for a young woman in a small town?

Apologies if its in the article, I cannot open the link.

The dating site hidden on a profile could be something like Facebook Dating; there's a link to it from your profile. Or, not judging in the least, but maybe by "eye-opening," her family meant they discovered it was a dating site for a specific interest or lifestyle they were unaware she was into.

Exactly. They probably were surprised to find she’d been exploring grown-up life. I also perceive her behavior before she disappeared to be that of someone excited to escape her middle of nowhere, desert farmland existence. I hope she’s safe and will eventually call her mom.

This one has haunted me for a while. Seems odd that she would change the pin on her cash related apps but then not use any of her accounts after that at all, if that’s what we can draw from the “no activity” comment above.

Also weird that dogs picked up no scent at all.

I just came across her case on NamUs. Here is the profile:

I truly hope she is safe and will reach out to her family and to law enforcement to let them know where she is.

What happened to Lizzy? It’s been one year ago today that she just disappeared.

April 17, 2025

“We’ve not found clothing, we’ve not found shoes, we’ve not found her bag, it’s just very odd that there’s no trace, there wasn’t even footprints leading anywhere for us to find,” said Vanessa Simmons in a previous interview with 2News' Brian Schnee. “And the dogs never got a scent when they were out here the first time, they didn’t get a scent when they were out here a second time.”

IMO

I live in Utah and I just watched a short local news documentary about this case. I think it is understated just how rural this area is. There is basically nothing out there! I think they said the population of the town is approx. 50 people.

The area is mostly a flat desert landscape which was heavily searched. If she/her remains were still in the area, I think the drone/ground searches would have more than likely found her.

IMO she was picked up by someone she met online, especially with what her family mentioned about secret social media profiles. It seems she was very bored and felt stagnant in the town, and I can imagine there are very few people in her age group who live there. I can see why it would potentially be easy to agree to be picked up by someone willing to take her away from it.
