Elizibeth Green, who goes by Lizzy, was last seen on Wednesday of last week, April 17. Officials say she never arrived at the ranch she said she was headed for.

CALLAO, Utah (KUTV) — A Utah woman reported missing more than a month ago was last seen in an "extremely rural" community in the west desert of Juab County.

According to Simmons (her mother,) Elizibeth, who is 21, was last seen in Callao, Utah — a community with a handful of homes and ranches. Simmons said Elizibeth was last seen walking to a nearby ranch where she was starting a new job.

According to a search warrant filed by the Juab County Sheriff's Office for access to Elizibeth's communication devices and associated social media accounts, the Juab County Search and Rescue team dispatched to the area on April 18 to begin looking for Elizibeth.

"Based on the information that we have received, we are concerned about the possibility that Elizibeth is in danger of serious bodily injury or death," the warrant states. "It is unknown if Elizibeth is in danger and lost in the vast desert, or if someone that she was communicating with met with her and is holding her against her will."

In the last 24 hours, People magazine and the New York Post have run stories on Green. Her mother, Vanessa Simmons, has been seeking help and sharing info on her Facebook page, even posting her phone number at one point. Friends have responded by sharing the case online throughout Utah and even as far away as Boston and Alabama.

Simmons shared additional details about her daughter, such as she was walking to work at her new job at nearby Parker Ranch when she disappeared. Green has a mole on her left cheek, sometimes wears glasses, and her eyes can be hazel as well as green, changing colors with contacts “depending on what she’s wearing,” says her mother. As she said yesterday, “If anybody knows anything, please reach out.”

New info in here about her wanting to move to Omaha and that PINs on her money apps were changed in the morning. I'm feeling a little hopeful that this is a 21 year old trying to break away and maybe didn't know the right way to go about it. Fingers crossed she is ok and will find a way to let them know!

he Juab County Sheriff’s Office filed search warrants for Green’s social media accounts and phone records. According to Simmons, there has been no activity on Green's accounts since the day she was reported missing.

“People don’t just disappear without a trace, they just don’t. So this is why it’s so scary and so confusing that there’s nothing,” Simmons said.

There are a number of theories that have been floated out regarding Green’s disappearance, but investigators haven’t confirmed if anything has come to fruition.

Based on the revelation of her use of a “secret” dating app, her known dislike for living in Callao (a town of 50 people), her “excited” demeanor on the day she disappeared, her last act of kindness to her mother (making her a coffee - deemed unusual), and her insistence on walking alone to her new job (all of which relayed by her mother in the linked article), I do wonder if her disappearance was (at least initially) voluntary. MOO.

Or, not judging in the least, but maybe by "eye-opening," her family meant they discovered it was a dating site for a specific interest or lifestyle they were unaware she was into.

Exactly. They probably were surprised to find she’d been exploring grown-up life. I also perceive her behavior before she disappeared to be that of someone excited to escape her middle of nowhere, desert farmland existence. I hope she’s safe and will eventually call her mom.

This one has haunted me for a while. Seems odd that she would change the pin on her cash related apps but then not use any of her accounts after that at all, if that’s what we can draw from the “no activity” comment above.

Also weird that dogs picked up no scent at all.

IMO

I live in Utah and I just watched a short local news documentary about this case. I think it is understated just how rural this area is. There is basically nothing out there! I think they said the population of the town is approx. 50 people.

The area is mostly a flat desert landscape which was heavily searched. If she/her remains were still in the area, I think the drone/ground searches would have more than likely found her.

IMO she was picked up by someone she met online, especially with what her family mentioned about secret social media profiles. It seems she was very bored and felt stagnant in the town, and I can imagine there are very few people in her age group who live there. I can see why it would potentially be easy to agree to be picked up by someone willing to take her away from it.
