My next door neighbor's son said he saw Ethan yesterday.

I think the attempting to leave 5X was made up to support their story of he must of just walked out of the front door like he always does... Just heartbreaking.

Yeah, it's possible. You'd think if a child attempts to leave 5 times in 10 days the parents would be a little more cautious of making sure doors were locked at night...

My theory. Not a tough one. We've seen it I don't know how many times recently.

Mom wanted Ethan with her and step-dad. Step-dad didn't want Ethan. Mom wanted step-dad more than she cared about Ethan. Step-dad beat the carp out of Ethan. Mom let him because she just loves step-dad soooooo much. Step-dad beat the carp out of Ethan one time too many.

I also think there's a possibilty in some of the cases like this that the other parent takes the child so they don't have to pay child support. I'm sure the father would be paying child support if he was staying there with mom for the summer.
People are greedy she would be getting money instead of having to pay money. JMO

This whole 'left the apartment 5x' info, is that coming from the mom with no outside confirmation of this? Who knows if that is just a cover story?

In Robert Manwill's case, a little neighbor girl said she played with Robert the day before (?) he went missing. They don't think Robert was alive then, IIRC. Kids can often make things up. I'm not saying this little boy is making it up. But I don't think a "sighting" by a child can necessarily be taken as fact.

Breaking news on cbs local channel, they're saying there is a crime scene some 30 miles away from the apt in Eden Ut!

Not coming right out and saying it is connected but yet showing pictures of the child. :( http://connect2utah.com/news-story/?nxd_id=87535

I'm surprised there haven't been any news conferences yet.

Sounds to me like an excuse set-up for the purpose of his disappearance.

Oh dear God... has everyone seen the comments by "2ndamendfan" on KSL.com?

I have followed this case all day and thought for sure when I saw it this morning they would find him wandering around somewhere. But as the day went on it looked worse and worse for this child.

Poor liitle guy. :-(

I know I don't have the WHOLE story yet, but if you don't want the kid or can not handle it why in the hello would you want him for the summer, I suggest they lock them up before the public gets ahold of them ....moo

....or for revenge against the custodial parent. The if I can't have him or her no one will thing. Sadly it happens more often that it should when either a parent- usually the woman - makes a crappy choice in a signficant other or one of the parents - usually the man - is hell bent on revenge and murders his kids to spite the ex.

Poor Ethan...... and his poor bio daddy. Maybe he is still alive, hurt but alive. We can hope until official word comes in.

Layton police have called off the search for a 4-year-old boy missing since Monday night due to credible leads in the investigation. Police refused to say why the search for Ethan Stacy was disbanded and whether the boy was found or in what condition. Layton Police Lt. Garret Atkin said officers have what they believe to be solid leads in the case and that the public no longer needs to assist in the search for the boy.

FOX 13's Ben Winslow reported that a large police presence, including crime scene investigation units and Layton Police Department vehicles are near the Powder Mountain Resort. Authorities have roped off the area and are not letting anyone go to where they are investigating. No word yet on whether the police presence near the resort is related to the missing boy case.

This is sounding worse and worse by the minute for poor Ethan. I'm still praying though!

I saw it. I really try not to read too much into the comments by random posters, because I think a lot of them are just trying to gain attention/stir up trouble. However, "2ndamendfan"'s comment really disturbed me and I pray to God it's not true. :(

aww man. What a precious boy. This turn of events doesn't seem like this is going to end well.

My heart just sunk.
