I have spoken with Michelle on the phone. Stephanie was the catalyst of the fights between Joe and her.

She also tried to keep Michelle's children from Michelle.

The more I learn about her, the more I detest her. As Ruby said, a complete waste of skin.

If you speak with her again, please pass along my condolences to her and her children and Joe, and my gratitude for the love and care they all lavished on that sweet little boy.

That's what I suspected. I really feel for Michelle and Joes children. My kids are stepsiblings and half siblings to each other. If they lost one, it would be so devistating for the others.

I can't imagine what her children are going through. How do you even tell kids what happened? You can tell from the photos they doted on and simply adored Ethan. Who wouldn't???

They are doing as well as can be expected. His brother isn't talking. He's taking it pretty hard. His sister is being the strong one, mom said. She is going to talk to Joe about getting them some grief counseling.

Good morning everyone --

http://www2.tricities.com/tri/news/...of_ethan_stacy_i_didnt_have_any_choice/46167/

This is some coverage from the Bristol Herald Courier and its online site Tri-Cities.com, which serves the area around Richlands, VA where Joe Stacy grew up and little Ethan was due to begin preschool in the fall. The article says it will be where Ethan will be laid to rest.

(I have family in Emory, not far from Richlands – beautiful, beautiful part of the country with gorgeous rolling hills and mountains.)

Justice for Ethan -

The above facebook group is huge, well over 14,000 members by now and messages are being posted fast and furious. I can't find it now, it's moved farther down the page, but I read that a picket is being organized for the courthouse when they are due to appear. I think one at the jail too, but I'm not sure of that. In any case, locals are coming out today.

Good.

Boy I hope they do! If I was closer, I would be marching right along with them!! Checked out the page...there are alot of people countrywide who are angry and upset about the brutality and suffering Ethan endured by these two heartless, souless ugly people. I was taught to pray for both the good and bad people in this world, but I am having a really hard time with this one. Ethans smile and loving heart really touched me. He was a gift from God and still cannot wrap my mind around the EVIL they put him through. (moo)

Anyone local - whats the best live link for todays pressers?? tia :)

Oh God yes please.

As a matter of fact...

Tell her about this posted on the discussion page:

"I also passed information onto Joe about UT's Victim Compensation fund. They will pay for funeral and burial expenses along with any mental health counseling."

I'm sure the brother and sister would qualify for help.

It is beautiful down here. Like Joe had said, a safe place to raise an active and adventurous little boy.

I could probably google this but what time zone is that area of Utah in? TIA.

Thank you to everyone that has posted since last night, your links and thoughts.

Ethan has touched so many of us. Especially since we could see his picture taken after the abuse began.

It is heartrending and horrifying to see Ethan like that and I know that I will carry the sight of him for a long time in my heart.

We read about children every single day who are murdered and abused here on WS. Crimes in the News is a subforum that I just can't read right now~ the crimes are so horrific against children that I had to take a break for that sub forum.

Many of us, not all, have never seen a child that abused. It's rare we see photo's. Ethan is showing us exactly what abuse looks like and we can carry his image with us when we see articles or tv coverage of other children who went through what Ethan went through. I think that Ethan is going to save other children. He is going to guide our hearts and make us more aware to what we see and hear and we will report it in the future without hesitation. (not we as in WS but we as in the general public out there)

I won't be around when the press conference starts. I'll read up on it when I get back, if someone would be so kind as to post a synopsis I'd appreciate it.

Thank you SuziQ (and darlin gal!)

OT: I've only lived in this time zone for 9 months. I am moving to another in a couple of weeks.

I may not be able to access a TV or the internet during the presser. I will try.

Could someone be so kind as to post what is said? Thank you so much in advance.

Prayers for Ethan's family!

I agree. If she doesn't get a murder charge or a negligent homicide, manslaughter or something, I am going to be livid.

Me too! I'm remembering Casey Anthony case and how careful the prosecutor had to be with his charges because of 'double jeopardy'. If Stephanie is charged with murder and the case can't be proved beyond 'all' reasonable doubt, and she is found to be not guilty, that's it, she's off the hook for all of it. Can't ever be retried again for that crime even if she confesses to murder, she's a free woman. moo

Wish we had a legal beagle person here to help us understand if the charges against Steph are considered to originate from the same crime. So if she is charged with child abuse or kidnapping for the death of Ethan and found guilty, can she later be charged with murder or will that be double jeopordy. Anybody know? TIA moo
