Today started out difficult – one of those days where the job search seemed like it will never end. It became much worse when I read the news about Ethan.

I’ve cried off and on all day for this sweet, innocent child. At times like this, I think of women like me who so wanted to be mothers, but it just didn’t happen for various reasons. Mother’s Day is always bittersweet. Although I have 5 beautiful nephews and a niece, I sometimes find myself wondering what it would have been like to hold a newborn child of my own.

And then I read the horrific details of this situation – that this sorry excuse for a mother – this selfish, ice-cold she-devil -- could do this to her innocent, trusting, vulnerable child, simply enrages me. If my DOG was lethargic and vomiting, I’d be on the phone to my vet in a flash. Yet this woman could go get a prescription for her cowardly boyfriend at Walmart, but couldn’t dial 911 for her precious son. I believe there is a special place in hell for those who commit these atrocities against children…

Stephanie, Ethan was not a pawn to use as ransom in your divorce proceedings – he was a gift from God!

Forgive me for my rant – this story has touched my heart. Ethan, now fly with the angels and nestle in the arms of God.

Of course she's going to try that as a defense. It's all she's got. The question remains if this is ever going to make it to jury. I see her trying to get a reduced sentence in exchange for her testimony to help convict NS. IMO the DA would be taking quite a risk in doing so. It's obvious she's a liar, so a conviction would no doubt come due primarily to NS's own words and the physical evidence. If anything, her pattern of lies would murk up the case and could even cause confusion on the jury's part as to what really happened to Ethan. IANAL, but I see no advantage in cutting any deals with her.

I honestly do not think the DA is going to need her testimony. I think they will have more than enough evidence to convict both of these monsters without any testimony from SS...... It is just so early on they wouldn't possibly have all the evidence put together yet..... Look at how long it took to up the charges against Casey..... There is a ways to go yet before all the t's are crossed, all the i's are dotted and ducks are in a row.

What will eventually be interesting is if there defense attornies can keep them from testifiying... which he or she will likely tell them not too, however their ego's are so big I have a hard time thinking they will not speak...... (if I am going to take a guess at predicting that far into the future.)

Cubby I'm with you on the multiple personality issue. I think he is more than likely seriously personality disordered.

IMHO (layman's opinion) PD's are not mental illnesses but rather a category devised to put a name to people who have personality deficits. Character deficits. He could have one ore more. IMHO personality disorders need not be singular in their diagnosis and certain PD's share common symptoms ~ such as antisocial PD and Narcissism PD. All JMHO.

Personality disorders are not a viable defense in court. FWIW NS had named his different sides of who he was so he could blame his bad behavior on those so called personalities.

I wouldn't be surprise if the information that he was diagnosed with this~~didn't come straight from his mouth to his family's ears. JMHO

I think NS used this as an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for his actions. Something tells me that a true alternate personality isn't going to go by the name of "Ghost" or "New York". Sounds like something an arrogant pseudo-tough guy punk would name his "alter-egos".

I have NO problem at all with the DA taking his time filing charges. None whatsoever. These 's aren't going anywhere. And perhaps if they're kept long enough, one or both may have an "accident".

aww Calliope that made me tear up again. You know I could almost hear his giggles and I can imagine his feet going pitty pat on the floor each morning he woke up to joyously meet a new day full of adventure and hugs to give his Daddy, Step-Mom and siblings. I bet he was so much fun.

I still can't get over the fact that she married him while this torture was going on. Not to mention the slushies she bought. I am stunned over this. These two don't have multiple personalities,to have a personality, you have to have a heart,. These two are just a waste of skin.

I think she was planning it that way from the first hit. From her wedding page she knew of his so called dark side. She also seemed to claim that she would stand by him to the death.

Perhaps they could get matching tables and be executed at the same time? that is what I call the "garranimals" of monsters like this (matching sets memeba? http://www.skooldays.com/images/fa2134.jpg )

battered woman? I have seen fish more battered than this and they were happily drenched in flour, some egg, and a few spices. This woman was battered if I threw Zateran's deep fry spice on her but other than that I just don't buy it!

The timeline that eyes is putting together really seals it all up nicely.

It makes me sick to my stomach that taxpayers are paying to protect the likes of them... protection that neither one afforded little Ethan.

I guess they have to protect those two . But I pray they are brought in in full view of the public, and not hidden or disguised in any way. Bring them in the front door within feet of the mob sure to be gathered there. I want them to hear how furious people are with them; I want them to hear the threats and curses. I want them to feel some of the emotional terror they inflicted on Ethan and to know their lives aren't worth ****---on the inside OR the outside.

About this "multiple personality" crap. It's been a long time since I did psych, but from what I recall, it's not like the person commits an act and then *snaps to* with the realization he's been under the control of an alternate personality. There are long and distinct periods of amnesia of sorts, where they are unable to recall significant events and they "lose" long periods of time in their life. If they're even aware of what's happening, it's as if they're watching themselves from afar. Hence it being a dissociative disorder. IMO, he used this as a means to avoid taking responsibility for his actions.

It's sometime tomorrow but I'm not sure of the time. I hope the DA isn't moving to fast on this.

Question... at this hearing, could the judge revoke SS's bail and order her held without? I'd say from what we've read so far about her, she would certainly be a flight risk. He could always say it's for her own *safety*. Maybe if LE brings them in amongst the irate mob, she'll ask for her bail to be revoked.

I wonder if that was somehow leaked without the DA's approval? I can't imagine them releasing such to the public... that would explain why it was edited out so quickly.
