What are trolls?

Thanks, this is a particularly depressing TL to work on. Just look at all the help I have from my fellow sleuthers...great help with updates and corrections. The batting around of times and dates only helps the TL to be accurate - far more than if I was doing it myself. Thanks for the offer. I will take you up on it. MOO

Just a thought... you could use a diff color for parts of the timeline that have not been proven... that way they would stand out as needing to be verified and when you or other people found verifiction they could be changed back to the original color? IDK just and idea...

I always figure if the information comes from a true journalist*, a family member, an investigator or the perp themselves, it's a good source. Putting the URL of the story right by the event, keeps the sources straight.

Are there occasional conflicts? Yes, but they are easily identified AND you actually want them. Why? Because they're the false statements that lead to the truth of what happened. Documenting who said what happened, and when they say it happened, brings out a lot of truth....eventually.

It's hard to explain, but the person building the timeline knows it when they see it ;)

*I consider pay-per-click "rewriters" as a danger to the profession of journalism, so never include their articles as a source. I hope this doesn't offend anyone.

What are trolls?

People (normally newbies) who come to the forum just to cause drama/create attention for themselves.

Excellent post, laytonian. Thank you.

If for some reason they're not on tape let's hope they used a credit card.

Yes, but a credit card wouldn't show their demeanor that day after Ethan was deceased and SS already made statements to LE which led them to believe the tip was credible. The tape would show their demeanor without Ethan in their presence and that is what I think I and possibly others are intersted in. Kind of like the partying for the 31 days without a concern in the world while Caylee was missing and Casey was living it up.

That's interesting! I was wondering about about her grandparents. Didn't know GP were barred from seeing all 3. Who barred them? Was it court ordered?

Maybe they were abusive. Involved with some kind of satanic abuse? Maybe Stephanie was severely abused as a child and she was reenacting out that sadistic abuse with her son, Ethan?

Obviously I'm trying to get some clues about her childhood - I can't make sense of why she would be a willing partner, and perhaps initiator, in the sadistic abuse and murder of her son.

If and when you find out the reasons, I hope you let us all know. TIA

I don't think SS's parents were likely anything but ordinary. Just because someone like NS and SS do something so freakish and horrendous doesn't mean it is a result of their upbringing. Think about Jeffrey Dahmer and his father, along with the statements JD's father has made about his son. JD's dad was just an ordinary guy......

I was wondering about what they did for a living? Did they have jobs? TIA

Depends on what was purchased.. IMO it could show a person's demeanor... like say condoms or silly string... I'm jus sayin:truce:
a new door knob... wall paint etc
in other words it could show if they were in cover up mode party mode or back to normal life

What are trolls?

"Trolls"...that's an internet term used to describe jerks who infiltrate a thread or discussion forum for the expressed purpose of causing trouble, offending legitimate participants, and inciting emotion and mayhem. They write terribly offensive things just for the sake of offending. And they particularly feed off of the emotional reactions of the other posters.

In my experience, I've learned the best way to deal with them, the quickest way to get rid of them is to simply ignore every post or comment they make, no matter how upset I get. If their provocations have no effect, they get bored and leave to find another forum where people WILL respond.

I LUUUUV color coding. :) I utilize it heavily when making travel itineraries and personal schedules. Great suggestion.

I have talked to someone who has viewed a clear copy of that grainy photo that was shown on the news of Ethan sitting next to the monster. There is no way the injury and swelling/bruising that Ethan had to face could be mistaken for a peanut allergy.

The only thing I can surmise is that Nate's mom saw Ethan before the injury that day or she is lying that Ethan "was fine".

I agree. A little OT. My son was bitten by a mosquito on his cheek when he was 4 and within 18 hours he had developed cellulitis. It was the only time his preschool called due to him being ill and I happened to have to take him to ER due to a tornado that day and every doctors office was closed. His cheek was pretty inflamed, red and warm, and even with that - and he looked like he had a cheek full of chewing tobacco his face was so swollen. Even with that, it was NO WHERE near as inflamed as Ethans face looked in that picture of him sitting next to 🤬🤬🤬. In fact, Ethans jaw looks so swollen in that picture it was likely broken which is why he wasn't eating well.

OMG lol the changing of colors would be like the changing of links - so many changes with links I stopped saving them. What a mess. I'll take a pass on that for now. Good idea though

Well good night everyone, Thanks for all the input and see you all tomorrow. :blowkiss:

I agree! Recycling published information for pay is just an accepted form of plagiarism! I don't like it.

Although in some contexts...education, for instance, or blogging, or paraphrasing for discussion...that's all fine with me. But as you wrote, "pay-per-click" journalism is pseudo-professional journalism and is only harmful.

I appreciate your policy, and I'm going to be careful in the future to adopt it as well. Thanks for bringing it up.

I have not heard what they did. It is obvious they spent over a week, doing nothing productive. Poor Ethan!! It is hard to comprehend. I still can't get over those stinking slushies.

I have been a long time lurker here. I have been so profoundly affected by this case, that I felt the need to post. I thought I had seen and heard it all, but clearly this is not the case. I cannot get the images of Ethan out of my head and at times I find myself crying for him. As crazy as it sounds, I feel like a part of me has died and I wonder if I will ever be the same again. I alternate between anger and sadness and can only hope that justice will be served for this angelic little boy and his family.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Thank you for posting this. The thank you button was not enough.I feel the same way. I find myself wanting to hug and kiss my little guy so much more. I am even finding myself putting things off just so I can spend that extra time with my son. Friday the two of us actually played in a mud puddle. ( he has a little mud hole he dug out in the yard and plays in it. ) Then tonight we stayed up a little later than usual and had a bon fire which is longer than our usual.

Ethans case has changed me. I will spend more time, be more patient, and I will be more observant than I have been when I think a child is being abused or in need.

I know tens of thousands wish they were there to save little Ethan. Since we couldn't we need to focus that energy and be more observant so no other child has to endure what Ethan did.

My heart aches due to this case, and I think it will for some time. At the min when we see justice is done and the trial for these two 🤬🤬🤬's is over...

http://www.abc4.com/mediacenter/local.aspx?articleID=97728

This is his mom's interview. She said she saw all three of them on Wednesday. They were all happy and well and fine.

She mentions that Stephanie came to her house that night. I wonder if that is when the abuse took place. She left Ethan alone with Nate and came home and he had beat Ethan.

I don't have working speakers so can't listen to the interview.

For clarification purposes, did PS say that Stephanie came to her house that evening alone? If so that, imo, is incredibly odd. IF SS did go to PS's home alone, why would she do that? Could she have been contemplating talking to PS about Nathan abusing Ethan? Thinking prhaps if his mom talked to him he would stop? But if she did not mention it to PS, then perhaps she couldn't drum up the courage.

Either way the day that jaw was so swollen she should have picked up her son and high tailed it the hell out of there whether she was able to bring any necessities or not.

She should have brought Ethan straight to the ER and let them contact LE regarding an assault investigation.

The more I think about the choices SS made the more furious I get.
