Taken with the statement that the abuse occurred between 4/29 and 5/8, this tells me the ME placed time of death between 5/6 and 5/8. That may have been strictly due to the autopsy, or as Mr. Rawlings said in his press conference, the autopsy combined with evidence they found in their investigation.

I really want to know what she was buying at WalMart on Friday...

Much like everyone else in the packed courtroom, I went to court to see Nathan and Stephanie Sloop, who face aggravated murder charges in the death of 4-year-old Ethan Stacy.

Nathan, shackled and wearing red jail clothes, appeared first, grim-faced and clean-shaven. He answered a few mandatory questions, and turned his head to tell his mother he loved her before being led out.

Stephanie followed, her hair in a tidy bun, her jaws clenched as a few tears fell from her eyes. When she turned to leave, she too grew stone-faced. Former friends in Florida told one of my colleagues Stephanie could cry when she needed to.

Was it Joe's grandmother that said that she knew Stephanie was "evil" even before Ethan's murder?

I guess I'm surprised that even more people haven't come forward to 'tell all'.

I'm also interested in learning more about how the incriminating Facebook picture, showing Ethan's damaged jaw came to be released while the other pics weren't.

Where is the person (it wasn't law enforcement/ LE) who released that pic? I have a feeling LE has requested that they keep quiet at least until the trial(s).

If the other alleged 16 other photos that were posted on Facebook were even worse, I wonder how many people saw them, and why they didn't call the authorities.

I don't know, I have many questions about the Facebook pics.

I think so. I think after she got home is when the neighbors saw her agitated. To me, this just proves even more so (like we didn't already know) that she didn't care about Ethan. The thing that bugs me, is was she agitated because she didn't want to get caught, or her plan didn't go the way she wanted it to. Basically, did she have an alterior motive, kind of like BeanE suggested?

Also, now that I think about it, I bet LE did the whole "SS is in there telling all" to NS and vice versa. They probably both ratted each other out.

Initially, Joe and others made comments about SS and NS but I noticed they backed off a bit, and became rather non-committal. For example, Joe said he'd received threats from NS, then would only comment 'he seemed like a nice guy' (or something to that effect). I suspect the family has been asked by LE and / or Mr. Rawlings not to talk about it. I think it was in the press conference that Mr. Rawlings said inflammatory comments wouldn't help his case. So I doubt we're going to hear from the people closest to SS and Joe before trial.

Thank you for sharing that. It is a consolation to know that Ethan didn't have to suffer that specific pain and humiliation, on top of everything else he had to endure.

She's posted a few things here and there, photos and that video of Ethan playing before bedtime. Nothing specific, just thanking everyone for caring. The one that tore my heart out was a caption she put under one of the photos:

we went and picked out ethans headstone today. its going to be beautiful. the headstone, itself, will have 6 pictures of him engraved and its so lifelike, it lookes exactly as the pictures, except that its all done in sepia. the granite will be black marble that its placed upon with the nickname "punkin" for all those special people who called him that, esp. his beautiful yaya(grandmother) and poppi(misspelled im sure; grandfather) who are john and tina busby.thank you both for loving him so much! and ty to all others whove taken him into your hearts! but, really, how could you not? i fell in love w/ the lil flirt asa i met him..p.s. this is MY FAVORITE picture i have of him out of many we have.

The grandma and 'Poppi' she mentions are Stephanie's parents. Their hearts must be torn to shreds- not only by having their beautiful grandson murdered, but because their own daughter is responsible.

Something tells me Stephanie put her parents through hell for a very long time, even before Ethan was killed.

There are so many victims because of NS and SS' actions.

•May 7, 2010—Stephanie leaves her friend, Carla Jones, frantic messages stating that Ethan is crying, won’t stop and is asking for his mommy. She reports she does not know what to do and asks Jones to please call her. She calls a second time, but Jones states that Stephanie is hysterical, she can’t understand what the message says. Jones reports that she did not call back. Jones describes Stephanie as “…very conniving, manipulating and deceiving person," Jones stated, "She would sell her own mother if it was going to get her something….She was not a fit mother….She was not a fit wife. She had a personality disorder. She had anger issues. She should have never had that child."
•May 9, 2010, Becky Elswick receives a Mother’s Day card that says, “Love your son, Ethan” in Stephanie Sloops handwriting
•May 10, 2010—Ethan Stacy is reported missing by Nathan and Stephanie Sloop
•May 11, 2010—Ethan Stacy’s body is recovered. Nathan and Stephanie Sloop are arrested.
•May 27, 2010—ABC4 reports they wrote Stephanie Sloop a letter asking details of her life. She responded, “HA, HA, HA (in capital letters she writes), I've invoked my right to remain silent or didn't my attorney already say that?”
•May 29, 2010--Nathan and Stephanie Sloop charged with aggravated murder, second degree felony child abuse, second degree felony obstruction of justice and third degree felony abuse or desecration of a body. Nathan Sloop also charged with third degree damaging a jail cell.

Ok, I found it. It was in his obituary:

ETHAN JONATHAN DAVID STACY, 4 years old of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in Layton, Utah. Born at Fort Stewart Army Base in Savannah, Georgia on September 22, 2005, he was the son of Joe Gary Stacy of Richlands, Virginia. Ethan was a fun loving boy who enjoyed life and loved playing with his Transformers.

•March 2010—Nathan Sloop’s ex-wife moves to have a permanent restraining order put in place against Nathan Sloop. Joe Stacy reports after his son’s death that he was threatened several times via text message by Nathan Sloop.

In an interview after Ethan's death, he said that NS had threatened him over the previous months. It wasn't that he threatened him after Ethan died.
