Brigham City police are searching for an 89-year-old man with dementia who has been missing since Wednesday evening.

Floyd Kling found the keys to his red pickup truck on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and disappeared with a three-quarter tank of gas, police wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

Kling’s Chevy Silverado has a veteran license plate, and the number is F268G.

“He could be in three different states,” said Brigham City Police Chief Mike Nelson. “That‘s our real concern, we have no idea.”

He was last seen wearing a blue Air Force shirt and khaki pants. Kling is 5-foot-7, 170 pounds and has blue eyes and red-auburn hair, according to Nelson.

Kling's daughter Holli Ames said the family has spent a lot of time in Bear Lake over the years and they have been searching around Box Elder County with following up with the leads coming in from Ogden and Bear Lake.

"We stayed at Sweet Water every summer when I as little, so that is definitely a familiar place to him," Ames said. "Twin Lakes is also a place he holds dear. I know people have checked there, but he may be moving and that could change things hourly."

Ames is hoping that someone who may have bought him gas or had any other interaction with him might recognize him.

"He may not even think he's lost and forget he doesn't have his wallet until he goes to pay," Ames said. "We can't rule out anywhere at this point. Please continue to share with your friends and family in surrounding states. The weather is quickly changing and some areas are starting to get snow."

The family has created a Facebook page for anyone with leads or who may want to help in the search.

Please check any lakes, rivers, streams, bodies of water and side roads in the areas you live."

Ames said Kling also ran drills out by Wendover and they would like those traveling to keep their eyes open for him out that way.
