Trial over a 2016 skiing accident involving Gwyneth Paltrow began on Tuesday.

The actress and businesswoman was present in the Park City, UT courtroom as a jury was seated and opening statements began in the case. Terry Sanderson, 76, has accused her of crashing into him and causing him serious injuries while they were both skiing on a Utah mountain in Feb. 2016.

Gwyneth Paltrow trial judge rejects demands for directed verdict moments before closing arguments begin

Terry Sanderson, the judge noted, is not seeking economic damages. Gwyneth Paltrow, on the other hand, is seeking $1 in economic damages.

The verdict does not need to be unanimous, the judge noted, there only needs to be six out of eight jurors agreeing on each question. Each question can be answered by a different set of six jurors, if necessary.

He did not win - he is famous, but not as he would have liked! He was obviously after a payday. I wonder if he knew it was her all along and he did run in to her on purpose. He makes me ill.
