Terry Sanderson is the PLAINTIFF NOT defendant. i agree with your thoughts. GP has been there every day and has not missed a word of testimony. What does TS do sit in another room...but oh he was so ready to come out and have a seat when GP was on the stand. He looks so foolish. His daughters can't get out of town fast enough...who is assisting this brain injured guy? Another new girlfriend? Oh that is not a happy family as evidenced by Polly and Shae. Hoping to hear from Jenny who I think may be the voice of reason in that group.

I think she talked about being recognized & paps in the past on the slope. I guess she considered “ Eric from the ski lodge” her person that day. THAT part of her not hanging around to give her info came off elitist. Even Johnny Depps lawyer was shocked she did not stand for the jury.

Assume it's because the plaintiff tried to negotiate a settlement for many years and Paltrow refused. I think he kept lowering his asking price for the settlement. He began by asking for $3 million, he's now down to $300,000

The plaintiff had originally also sued the resort, so all the arguments about that, and amended litigation, would have been lengthy. I suspect that GP's team may have made a 'go away' offer, without admission of liability, some time ago, but with a cap on the plaintiff's costs and disbursements. So, once plaintiff rejected that offer and carried on costs-building the defence thought it might as well go to trial. That's how it works in the UK anyhow, and there are costs consequences if plaintiff doesn't do better than the offer made to him.

The lawyers seem to lack trial experience and case law knowledge. I suppose the majority of their claims are settled out of court or via pre-trial mediation.
I would like to know how often Paltrow skis. She testified that she is an intermediate level skier. However, if she skis once a year, or once every few years, then she might be referencing her ski level from when she was much younger.
I think this matters. It sounds like she was looking left and up the mountain when her son called out to her (which she denies happened), and she was skiing forward without paying attention to other skiers. That put her in the path of the plaintiff.
I think she was at fault in the crash. I also think that he has exaggerated his brain injury. Although he may have experienced some personality change, it sounds like his emotions are more intense rather than altered to be a different person. It does not sound like the brain injury has prevented him from enjoying a life of international travel and adventure.

It really didn’t help the plaintiff to put GP up right after Shae. The contrast was incredible. GP was poised and direct whereas Shae came off in so many unappealing ways.
I want to give some grace to the daughters and say they’re in a difficult spot. Their father did a number on them and they know they have to play the part to keep the facade of a great father/relationship going. That’s how they are coping with their difficult relationship with their father. But this just goes to show how much a lawsuit can bring out! If you have a family member who is controlling and difficult to deal with, they will test the ever loving s*** outta you until they die! This lawsuit is just further intrusion into their lives and they did nothing to bring that about!

However, these daughters are definitely all grown up and haven't spent a great deal of time with their difficult dad in many years. I'm a little surprised by the eldest obviously "trying too hard" on the stand.

Although I agree, I think what disturbs me the most about the two daughter’s testimony is all the disparaging remarks about their younger sister who seemed to give a much different story about their father (In her deposition).
Yeah they have grown physically but not matured psychologically/emotionally. A lot avoidance and denial going on. They’re stuck!
This may be off the wall but TS's demeanor in the courtroom and his staring at GP reported by those in the courtroom and just the way this went down makes me wonder if TS knew who she was. I wonder if among the "Meet up" group there was a discussion of her being on the slopes with children etc.? I assume she was seen elsewhere in the resort. He does seem to be the type to do something like this...just a wild idea.
I found Shae even more troubling than Polly. She kept called her daughter her baby sister. It seemed so odd. And that phrase both of them use it is "her truth" is so cliche. They both used it often. Really cut from the same cloth as TS as I think we will see. That van door story was so odd, so very rehearsed and not relevant at all.
add a few years for court backlog and then some for COVID delays IMO...Plaintiff's lawyers said the depositions were all over Zoom.

Her liability insurance may be covering her attorneys and her insurance company may want to get reimbursed if she wins … like in Amber Heard’s case (which didn’t happen) and that is why she is countersuing for $1 and attorney costs.

It doesn't sound off the wall to me. I also had the thought that a staged 'accident' just so he could have the thrill of bumping into GP; literally - and not expecting to actually get himself some cracked ribs in the process - seems like something right up his street. But then I thought 'no, they didn't know it was her'. As you say though, maybe they had become aware. Who knows.
