Joseph Louis Santi has been missing from Salt Lake City, Utah for 42 years. There are no other posts or mentions of him on websleuths. Little is known about his case, but he disappeared on a Saturday night under suspicious circumstances. All three of his vehicles were left at his residence the night he went missing.

I have never heard my local UT news mention him. It's as if he has been forgotten by most. Let's honor Joseph Santi and pay respect to him and his family by keeping his case alive on this site.
I wonder what could have happened to him.
I found updated info from Jensen Cold Cases on facebook. "Update: Joe has been missing since January 22, 1977. Unidentified remains were located on July 25, 1977. The remains were fully decomposed meaning the unidentified man in Naples, Florida had been dead for at least 4 months. He was found fully clothed and wearing two gold chains which Santi was known to wear. We are seeking to have BCI confirm our suspicions with Florida. Meanwhile, we are asking for the public's assistance. If anyone can confirm Joe Santi's business dealings in Florida we would like to hear from you."

His property was sold at probate courtt in Oct 1977. It sounds as if the courts considered him dead after less than 10 months. Joe Santi Missing - Newspapers.com I wonder if the courts accepted that the man in Naples FL was Mr Santi?

Thanks for posting. I hadn't read that bit of information. That's very interesting. If they did come to the conclusion that the body of the man in Florida was him, why is he still considered missing and his missing case remains open? Very strange. I'll be digging more into this case for sure.

According to Unidentified wiki and Doe Network, those remains were eventually identified as Charles Destefano

<< Santi would later become the owner of the Price theater and a drive-in.

But Santi made bigger money in uranium mining, hotels and jewelry.>>

<<His property was soon auctioned off. Banks were after Santi. He was deep in debt.

“He (allegedly) embezzled $300,000 from the Royal Inn, later renamed the Shilo Inn,” said Jensen.

Even his life-long friend was aware that Santi was living on borrowed money.

“I imagine Joe over extended himself as you don’t build a hotel like that on an IOU,” Etzel said.>>
