Defendant to take plea deal in Kiplyn Davis murder case

There are new developments in the murder case involving missing teenager Kiplyn Davis.
Chris Jeppson is scheduled for an entry of plea hearing Wednesday afternoon in 4th District Court in Provo. He is one of two men charged with the murder of Kiplyn Davis, who disappeared 14 years ago this month.
He will not plead guilty to murder. This plea deal appears to be a way for him to put this behind him and allow prosecutors a chance to salvage their case, which has been on the verge of falling apart.
The judge hearing the case is already considering motions from both defendants to throw the cases out.
Jeppson has always maintained he didn't know anything about the case, but witnesses have come forward over the years claiming he told them he knew what happened to Kiplyn.
He faces a four-year federal prison sentence on the perjury conviction.
The Utah County attorney did not want to give specifics about the plea deal Tuesday. But one source close to the case told KSL Jeppson won't be providing any information to prosecutors, in exchange for the reduced charges, that do not appear to be related to Kiplyn's murder.

Timmy Brent Olsen pleaded guilty Friday in the killing of Spanish Fork teenager Kiplyn Davis, finally bringing resolution to the long-running case.

His guilty plea to manslaughter, a second-degree felony, and was immediately sentenced to one to 15 years in prison. Under the plea deal, Olsen, 33, does not have to reveal where Davis' body is buried. Prosecutor Mariane O'Bryant said the Davis family agreed to the deal.

I just don't know how I would survive going through what parents of victims go through.

(snip)
Davis thanked Olsen for his plea, saying he forgives him. But he begged Olsen to tell authorities where his daughter's body is located.
"It's like she's suffering, like she's still cold," he said of not knowing where she is.
Davis offered to speak on Olsen's behalf with the state Board of Pardons and Parole in order to get him released early if he would agree to provide more information about the location of the body and to speak out against the two other people Davis believes were involved in his daughter's death.
He also offered to help pay for school and dental work while Olsen is in prison. Olsen sat with his head bowed, avoiding eye contact while Davis spoke. "I'll be your biggest advocate. We have no grudges," Davis said. "This is a new beginning in our lives, Tim. Let's not drag this on any longer."

On the other hand, Davis said, he will push for Olsen to remain in prison as long as possible if he does not cooperate further. Asked why he thinks Olsen stayed silent for so long and may still be holding back some information, Davis said, "I wish I knew." The one to 15 year sentence will be served concurrent with the sentence he is serving for a federal perjury conviction.

Wow!! Timmy Olsen finally plead guilty to "watching" Kiplyn be murdered.

He still did not tell the family where the body is located. :maddening:

However, the family did agree to this plea deal! At last, this creep finally admitted something!! I cannot believe that it took 16 years for one of these terrible creeps to admit that they killed her. This family deserves her body!

Man Who Lied in Kiplyn Davis Case Sentenced

A man who admitted to lying about what friends told him regarding the disappearance of Kiplyn Davis will not spend additional time in prison.

U.S. District Judge Tena Campbell sentenced Garry Von Blackmore to 36 months probation Monday for his plea to two counts of perjury. He will be required to maintain employment or job training and undergo random drug tests.

Blackmore, 31, originally faced five counts of making false statements to federal investigators and a grand jury. Prosecutors dropped three counts in exchange for his guilty plea. He served 13 months in prison stemming from the charges that were filed in August 2005.

Davis went missing from Spanish Fork High School in May 1995 when she was 15 years old.

IMO, Kiplyn will never see the justice she deserves.

Kiplyn - where did these creeps take you?! Where is Kiplyn Davis?

Scott Brunson doesn't know what happened to Kiplyn Davis, the Spanish Fork teenager who went missing more than 16 years ago.

Investigators in the case didn't believe that for a long time. They thought the high school pal of Timmy Brent Olsen knew more than he let on.

But federal prosecutors are now convinced that other than providing a false alibi for Olsen, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in February, Brunson knows nothing about Kiplyn Davis' disappearance May 2, 1995.

Also, in a previously linked article it states that:
http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/home/51240468-76/kiplyn-davis-olsen-case.html.csp?page=2

While he admitted to witnessing someone kill Kiplyn by striking her with a rock, Olsen will not name the killer because he fears for his safety in prison, his attorney said.

In todays article it says it was part of the agreement. So who did he name?
http://www.ksl.com/?nid=960&sid=16461055

Olsen admitted in state court to his role in the killing of Kiplyn Davis, saying he saw another person strike Davis twice in the head with a softball-size rock in Spanish Fork Canyon, then helped that person move her body. As part of his plea agreement, Olsen was required to identify the other person.

As a shot in the dark, could the remains they digging for by Topaz Mountain possibly be Kiplyn Davis? Everyone believes that it is Susan Powell; and it is very likely, but ...

Kiplyn - I am so sorry for you and for your family that you have never been laid to rest with a proper burial - in a place that your family could visit.

Olsen - you know where she is and you are a COWARD for not letting the family have some real peace!

Leifson - you also know and you are the biggest COWARD of them all!! You know what happened that day; and you KNOW what this family has gone through. You KNOW the misery that this family has suffered at your hands.

Thinking about Kiplyn today. :(
