This line of questioning with Larson is nuts. Same with Nguyen.

Impressive they’re able to keep their composure during these attacks on their professionalism and procedure. Defense lawyer seems to be the only one getting ramped up emotionally.

This defense attorney is annoying the heck out of me. He belabors each and every non point he wants to make to the point of gibberish. It is clear that the witness is only working with what she is told, a narrative provided by others at the scene and what her own eyes saw.

Bro, where are you going here because it is taking way too long to get there.

Snipped by me.

Going nowhere. Grasping at straws. Hoping he stumbles on something that didn’t “follow procedure” MOO

nit picking and trying to malign the investigation and not doing a very good job of it IMO. deputy Nguyen is doing well under this cross.
The deputy’s patience is admirable

I don’t cry in crisis situations, I bottle it all in and break down when I’m alone. I hope I will never have to find out, but I’d hope tears or no tears wouldn’t be the deciding factor for LE. But trying to fake tears and hiding your face, acting distress, it just stands out, even for someone like me.

Agree!

I’m tend to totally shut down in crisis situations. Block off all my emotions to do what needs to be done, etc.

I think it’s the combo of no tears with the actions of someone who you would expect to be crying vs someone who’s emotions match their actions.

It's like a drunk trying to act not drunk. You can still see they're drunk. That's how grief works. It's not the tears and hysterics that signal grief/shock/horror. You can feel people's energy in these situations. I've definitely changed my mind as I think about it more. She was doing a terrible acting job. Covering her face and asking inane questions. I wouldn't have even left my husband's side to be interviewed in that moment.

Defense making much about the current witness (deputy Pimentel) not searching for the alleged THC gummies or any illicit drugs in other areas of the home and only went were he was told medication might be found (bathroom)

Good gravy they really do have nothing except our poor client was picked on by decedent's sister and then LE decided to charge her a year later. This is so bad IMO.

This isn’t a death penalty case, correct? KR has to know this isn’t going well and her team has to have told her they don’t have much. I guess there’s nothing to bargain with (like a guilty plea in exchange for life instead of death penalty).

Pimentel went to the Richins' home on March 4. He was charged with scene security and was asked to start a medical log listing medications found at the scene. He looked for the medicine where Kouri told him they might be. Pimentel was aware that Eric may have taken THC gummies. He did not find THC gummies anywhere.

Defense attorney Wendy Lewis now asking questions. Pimentel is asked where he searched for medicine. He says in the bathroom. She shows him a list of medications taken from the home. Pimentel wrote three medications that were found in the master bathroom.

Pimentel says Kouri told him that Eric took THC gummies. Lewis asks why he didn't ask where the gummies were. He says he collects prescription medications. Lewis asks if he looked in the closet for drugs. Pimentel recalls someone mentioning there was a pill bottle organizer in a bathroom drawer.

Pimentel left at 5 a.m. He didn't write a report that night, but wrote a report in January 2023 after being asked to. It was a short report that said he left the medication log on the dresser at the home. He doesn't recall why he was asked to write a report a year later, but was told by his supervisor to write it.

I am really tired of the THC gummies. No, he didn't look in the kitchen or the toaster, not in a moat, not with a goat.

What is the relevance?

None.

Nice dig at the officer. You were there for an hour and a half? Correct? And in that time you wrote down three things?

He wasn't an investigator.

Sheesh.

Omg agree. Is the THC focus to show he was a “druggie”?? Bc I don’t see the jury getting on board with that in 2026.

They have GOT to move on. The jurors are going to fall asleep.

Perhaps because sister-in-law said ER didn't use drugs, they are trying to use the THC gummies to impeach her testimony?

To imply he kept things from her, she didn't know everything, like maybe she missed his raging addiction. It's utter rubbish.

THC is medical in Utah, I think. Do we know if these gummies were purchased illegally? Or in a medical dispensary?

If it’s the later, they’re not illegal drugs. MOO
