Ugh. It is so easy for predators these days. Most kids have uninterrupted access to every SM platform out there and then some. I'm not even sure what can be done. Parents could shut it down but they would just use a friends phone or computer. Young girls are so naïve and impulsive. They have no idea of the monsters out there waiting for them.

School programs and public service announcements like the anti smoking campaigns when my kids younger surely would help raise awareness both among parents and kids

Rylie Secrest, 13, was found Thursday afternoon by the Cheyenne City Police Department in the back of a semi truck driven by Chris Evans, a 25-year-old man from Florida.

Officials said Evans had been communicating with Secrest for approximately one month through Oculus. According to police, the case is one of the first in the nation involving the virtual reality platform.

An investigation is now underway regarding possible charges against Evans related to kidnapping and harboring a runaway.

No idea however could this have been a trafficking crime? Back of a semi truck is concerning. IMO. So glad she is ok.

I think it might have been something to do with phone numbers? Maybe that’s who she thought she was communicating with? Or maybe they saw her user name and put 2+2 together but came up with the wrong person just based on the name. All very strange anyway.

I still can't find anything. They should post his picture in case this isn't the only teen he has been chatting with. Get his face on the news! IMO
