Recovered/Located UT - Shylene White Mortensen, 26, kidnapped by female, South Salt Lake, 3 Jun 2021

Shylene “Shy” White Mortensen was last seen 6/3/2021 at 287 West 3300 South. It is believed she was taken against her will by a female acquaintance in a gold/tan colored,
2 door, Ford Explorer.

South Salt Lake Police are looking for
Person of Interest: Kayla Alanna Hauck Caucasin, female, 5’8”, 120 lbs, long dark hair.
Victim: Shylene “Shy” White Mortensen, Caucasian, female, 5’4”, 130lbs, brown and blonde hair, blue eyes.
2 door, Gold/Tan Ford Explorer, Utah Plate U68 8JG

Authorities are also looking for Kayla Alanna Hauck, who they say is a person of interest in the case.

Police say Mortensen and a man met up with Hauck at a nearby Trax station before going to the 7-Eleven. While the man went inside to pay for gas, Hauck drove off with Mortensen in the back seat. She was heard screaming, “Stop! Stop.” Witnesses say Hauck told her to “Shut up!”

A press release indicates as the driver took off, the passenger was heard yelling “stop” repeatedly.

The South Salt Lake Police Department states that very female passenger is also believed to have been reportedly missing since May 22.

The kidnapping of women by other women is not that common. My first thought was a crime was being committed and things went south with Shylene caught in the mess. Shylene was arrested for drug dealing (possession with intent to distribute in legal terms) in 2018. Hopefully, she is hanging with people with her interests at heart and they will release her unharmed.

Not sure based on the facts revealed in this article. It would be helpful to know more about the man though.

No updates on MSM regarding her being found but this article stated she was actually reported missing on May 22, and the video of the alledged kidnapping was June 3. So where was she at for 10 days? I couldn't find any MSM info either, but rumors are that she was found on June 6. (Sorry I don't think I can link to that info here though based on TOS).

Based on who said it though MOO I personally think she is safe JMO. Will have to wait though until (if?) MSM finally prints something to be absolutely sure.

MURRAY, Utah, Dec. 9, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — One of two suspects detained in an officer-assault case in Murray on Thursday has been booked into jail, and her name appears in court files.
Shylene White Mortensen, 26, has been booked into jail. Her boyfriend, who police say was was also involved in the attack, as well as a car theft, does not yet appear in new court records.

Mortensen now faces charges of:

• Receive or transfer of stolen vehicle, a second-degree felony
• Assault on peace officer or military service member in uniform, a third-degree felony
• Failure to stop at the command of law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor
• Interference with arresting officer, a class B misdemeanor
• Uses or possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor
