I'm thinking about a possible connection to Isa and also remember the break the BTK killer took regarding Rosie's case..

There's quite a bit of time span and geographic distance with Joseph Duncan as well. Californa, Idaho, Washington, etc. I've heard in the past that some cases are hard to link because these perps like to be on the move. They love to drive and drive for the heck of it. Nowhere to go, just drive. Joel Courtney was the same way and hit many of the same states. He's a serial rapist and suspected serial killer but has only been linked to one murder and a couple of rapes.

There are several similar cases in the Mountain West and Southwest going back several decades. I do not remember the details since it's been so long. But there was a multi state task force set up to investigate any possible links. I never heard any follow up to this. I distinctly remember JBR, Rosie Tapia and another little girl in Nevada among others. IMO, Isa fits right in.

See I didn't even count JBR, because she was found in the house... and looks nothing like these girls.
I know it's near impossible to compare every similar case... but if you narrow it down Ted Bundy like a bit more... it's easier.

Isa, Rosie and Sierra all had darker hair. (No blondes.)

Isa, Rosie and Sierra were all 6 years old.

Rosie and Sierra were both found in canals.
The Arizona vs Utah could be a reason Isa hasn't been found yet. Either knowing the area better or not as many water sources.

There are many people in Utah who live here during the summer and then go south for the winter.
Or many people just travel between the two states to visit family, attend events with family, etc.

This would also fit in with Isa being taken in April, Rosie in August and Sierra in June.

Are there any other dark haired girls found in water, or not found at all that would fit with this pattern?
All the ones I can think of were solved already and solved definitively.

MsF, I wish I could go back and find the articles about that task force. There were several that have flat out never been found in Ariz and Nevada. I agree on JBR's hair and she was found in the home. Although, I'm one of those that doesn't really believe in serial killers having a specific MO or always stick to a consistent pattern. I think many can't resist a crime of opportunity and the victimology gets muddled so that it's hard to link cases together.

As you had previously pointed out, Rosie Tapia in 1995 was also taken out of her room where she slept with her 4yr old sister and 4yr old brother. They were in the same room that night but apparently didn't see or hear anything.

I don't know how someone could be so brazen to go into a child's bedroom with others in the room and then how they can take the child without waking others up during the kidnapping? I just don't get it.:confused:

I hope they find this perpetrator soon!

I too am a mother.

We can see falseness in some parents reactions to their children going missing or murdered...it screams involvement to us because we KNOW how we would be if our biggest fear happened...the loss of our child. We wouldn't be lawyering up and not speaking to LE, that's for damn sure. In fact we would probably be arrested for harrasing the investigating officers with hysterical demands, tears, and insignificant details.

I certainly wouldn't be writing any damn books about me and the impact the disappearance/investigation had on ME. (I'm lookin at you, PR, JR and Kate McCann). It would just be too painful.

Someone here is going to respond to this post with "well, that's just you"...no, it's not just me. Giving birth is the most primal, important thing you will ever do and momma bears have absolutely nothing on a human momma bear when her baby is hurt. It is instinctive to cry for your lost baby. It is human nature, refined over millenia. People always dismiss mother's instinct, I don't know why, most of us would've never grown to adulthood at all if our mothers weren't constantly hovering. It is a basic survival instinct.

The "crazy" thing is if Sierra was missing, it would be all over national news. There would be such a huge difference in media interest.

Been reading up about this sad sad case of another beautiful child gone and the horror she endured in her final moments.. why why why? Is the chief stating this is an isolated incident and there is no boogie man out there? ..yet in the written article it clearly states there is child sexual predator and parents need to be vigilant? ..

Moo is that there is exactly that a real life monster, a boogie man that is raping baby girls and murdering them stolen from the safety of their beds.. so I don't get the obvious contradiction is there something I'm missing?

This is what I understand..
Dad leaves for work early morning hours.. at some point thereafter mom discovers Sierra missing from her bed.. zero signs of break in or forced entry.. mom contacts 911 and Sierras body is found less than an hour from that time.. she is found approximately a block from home in 4ft deep canal..zero OBVIOUS signs of trauma to the body when found thus initially undetermined if possibly accidental drowning or something much more sinister.. LE however do immediately treat as a homicide to ensure no evidence lost or missed in case it is deemed homicide.. autopsy reveals homicide. No cod given publicly.. sexual assault prior to death..

Is that the facts known at this time? ..if so eerily similar to isa save the bbody already found.. and understand there are those who will strongly disagree and that's fine I refuse to debate little Isa's case here in Sierras case i am merely making an observation of my own opinion..

TiA to anyone who can share any other insights or info that I've missed..this poor family i just read moms fb about her having picked out and purchased the last dress her littler girl will ever wear.. this family's lives have been forever shattered within a blink of an eye.. a mom waking up to what she believs to be any other weekday of their lives andwithin minutes realizes Sierra is gone and within an hour learns her daughter will never ever walk thru that door.. smile.. laugh..dance.. and hug her.. her little sister and best friends life forever altered from that moment forward.. as with as big brother.. i just can't stand to see it continue its everyday. Its another baby gone.. so many of them could be you or It's child by no wrong doing but by having an evil human enter their lives from seemingly nowhere and have taken and violated and murdered our baby before we even knew they had been there.. its terrifying and its real and it very much does happen.. are all cases a sexual predator? ..no of course not! ..but damn it, it does happen! ..they do exist and as equally tired/frustrated as i get with parents who harm their children.. equally I am frustrated with the so many that bash the hell out of innocent parents and are in a blind denial that there are monsters that actively prey ON OUR CHILDREN!

I would assume that she was put to bed by a parent. But it's a good question I haven't seen asked by the media. What was going on the night before? When was she seen last and by whom?

I'd like to know these answers too. I'm trying to understand the timeline, but I'm confused. I need to go back and reread.

Sadly, both predators and murdering parents exist.

Statistically, a child is most likely to die at the hands of someone in the immediate family.

There are exactly three similarities between Isa and little Sierra...their age, their sex, and the time they were found missing.

That is all.

We cannot know that Isa has even passed, let alone been raped or dumped. There is no connection between the two yet, in my mind, at all.

You cannot know that either set of parents is not involved at this stage. Statistics tell us, they are.

My gut tells me Sierra's parents are NOT involved with her disappearance, but Isa's parents are.

Granted, I have nothing other than instinct to feel this at this point...but neither do you. Don't go railing against others who don't share the same optimistic (as yet, unfounded) views.

Many questions remain in killing of 6-year-old girl

WEST JORDAN — Police remained tight-lipped Thursday about their investigation into the killing and sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl.

Officers declined to answer a series of questions, saying they don't want to compromise the investigation.

Sanders declined Thursday to answer questions about the last time Sierra was seen, whether there was evidence of forced entry into the house, whether Sierra shared a room with one of her siblings who were in the house at the time, or the exact wording the mother used to talk about her missing daughter.

Here is a sketch of the man that is wanting for questioning of the disappearance of Rosie. Here is the address of where she was discovered...
in a canal near 1900 South and 1600 West. How close is this to Sierra? If there is a connection here...even though it has been 17 years...it would only make him in his 40s (if he was in his 30s then). Honestly, this sketch makes him look younger than that.
