Thank you!

(I love having your expertise around :))
I was just going to post how much I appreciate Gitana, particularly in a difficult and emotional thread like this one.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they stated “evidence” that ties her to him outside.
Right, I understand it the same.
I have seen several comments about a backpack, but don't remember anything in any of the news reports about a backpack..
No backpack exists, per PC

Could you please direct me to info about Alex being invited to a wedding? Tysm
I can’t understand the wedding because LE is asking the public for info on his whereabouts Friday night. I feel like I’ve typed this so much my keyboard is on rote memory. If he attended a wedding, LE would know, IMO.

Is there any chance of this? ANY chance!!??

The uncle was stoned out of his mind, deep sleeping and someone else broke in and stole ES. AW woke up early and just left to wander around looking for some cars to rob or whatever his hobbies were, and didn’t notice anything amiss? Did some more weed and drank some beer for his breakfast. When the cops found him, he doesn’t remember his activities because he was drunk and high AF. He doesn’t want to incriminate himself for his extracurriculars, so he is talking in circles. He has no idea what happened to ES but knows they are trying to pin this on him, so he isn’t talking to them anymore.

Do we know if LE did any investigation for a break in, or considered any other suspects, or did they just go with him? Ugh. I desperately want it to be someone else other than anyone in their family or household. I cannot wrap my mind around this, so I am hoping beyond what seems reasonable for it to be someone else.

Also, a person close to the family commented that he had been recently couch surfing on various family couches recently. .MOO
Where did that person go anyway? Was she verified? I know she was trying... Hard

Nope.

Naw. Too many coincidences aren’t coincidences, and he’s played this entire thing as a remorseless, guilty man.

They aren’t guessing that she is dead, nor are they merely assuming that he is responsible.

There’s got to be evidence that supports this, and I firmly believe he all but handed it to them.

No, I think maybe missing bed linens made mom realize something was very wrong. Mom knows her brother, knows his relationship with the child, etc., she knew she needed LE, the two were not out picking up donuts to surprise her.

Or, what if there was a weapon missing from the home? That would certainly cause immediate concern.

Just my opinion.

I agree, although he may have made a mistake because from what has been said, the phone links him in some way to the child and what occurred.

What if Mom woke up and they were gone. Then she sees Alex's phone.

What if Mom finds something child exploitation related on Alex's phone that causes her immediate concern about the safety of her daughter?

This could help explain the immediate concern as well as immediate FBI and Homeland Security. (Though yes, they often come in on child cases anyway.)

Just my opinion.

No evidence of a sexual crime. Sounds like blood from both of them was found then, if there is DNA linking them outside the home and it isn't semen.

I do think blood from both was definitely found outside the house, linking both of them together outside the house.

I'm also thinking that an object from inside the house was also found with the blood, connecting them to the house as well.

I don't see how an object of Lizzy's outside the house connects her and Alex to each other outside the house... unless there is DNA from both of them on it?

Just my opinion.

A journalist asked if there was evidence of a sexual crime, and he said no.

I don't think semen is evidence of a sexual crime by itself. Only if it's on a child. Since they don't have a child they don't have that evidence. Even if they found semen on her clothes that wouldn't be enough to charge him with anything. So I don't think he's saying they don't have semen, he's saying they don't have evidence of a sex CRIME.

So this may be one of those tricky wording things... where they may believe that happened... but without the victim they can't prove it.

If they had asked if they BELIEVE it was a sexual crime... or if they found semen... that might have elicited a different response. I'm glad they were not asked that however.

Just my opinion.

They missed that one little girl in garage loft. I am doing her such a disservice by not remembering her name! But it has happened..

A teddy bear that she normally sleeps with, dirt, a blanket, her shoes etc etc.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they stated “evidence” that ties her to him outside.
Not DNA evidence.
The DNA was found on his person.

Right, but that is stuff that he easily could have brought out with him, whether she was outside with him or not. I mean, it’s safe to assume she was outside with him since she isn’t in the house... but I just wonder what sort of evidence they have that they are so definitive in their statements.

It almost feels like they are saying too many things to keep the public calm, and to convince them that there is not a bad person on the lam.

Perhaps that’s why he wore a hoodie over a suit? It can’t be that cold late May wee hours in UT?

Logan is in Northern Utah, set in a bowl surrounded by mountains. It has been rainy here for days, with some snow in mountains, and quite cool, esp at night and in the early mornings all over Utah. Logan is one of the coldest parts of our state...

IF he was cooperating I could possibly believe this.
If they hadn't found DNA of hers on him.
If they didn't have DNA evidence linking them outside the house.

It did occur to me, maybe Alex is being framed. Normally in a case like this we'd jump to "Mom's boyfriend" and no one has even looked his way. But no... too many coincidences would have to happen.

I think Alex did it. I think Alex knows he did it. I think Alex is enjoying knowing where she is and not telling anyone.

Just my opinion.

I would say no. I've been mapping everything I can glean from the scanner thread, and from the released information. There's a weird, almost macabre scavenger hunt set of activities/sightings/evidences near the home, and then a straight outta Dodge trail as due South as it can get. Just MOO, but he clearly was getting rid of evidence, and then heading out.

Thanks. It's not an overly troubling rap sheet as far as rap sheets go, although the domestic violence could possibly show a propensity for issues with females. That said, there was an article posted here yesterday which gave an overview of his circular conversations with LE, and one thing stood out and raised the hackles, if you will. He made mention of his "depraved" life. That statement truly gave me pause, and made me jump from him trafficking this child to more than likely killing this child. Depraved. I wish we could hear more of his statements to LE.

On a side note...thanks for all you do here. You're an informative bunch and this place has been my "goto" spot for so many cases. I have been a member and lurker for a long time. I finally decided to jump into the fray as something about this kiddo grabbed my heart.

Welcome YepperBepper, pleased that you are now posting.:):):)
I also think, perhaps AW has passed this child on to someone else, for 'monies/goodies' that he will be collecting for his drug habit.
MOO.

Very perplexing.
Nothing noted on arrest report that he had injuries.
Did a dog alert convince LE she was with him
Or as you offered, blood droplets?
I think none of these.

Mind if I ask what you think? It’s ok if you don’t want to say. I’m just curious. This case is really weird.

I think uncle Alex is full of surprises.

Haven't seen her on here since last night. Perhaps she was sharing too much, and needed to step away? Not sure she was able to be verified and its just too hard not to give details. It would be a dilemma for sure.

RSBM

This. This is what I saw on his face in that photo. And it makes me sick. It also makes my heart hurt so much for his sister and the double devastation she is facing with the loss of her daughter and the realization that her little brother is a monster.

Dang, you’re right. Too many coincidences. Occam’s razor and all that. I just wish really hard that it was someone else. I can’t understand family doing this. :(

But even dna on an object would not confirm they were both outside. The only thing I can think is there is a camera nearby but it only captured them in the immediate yard?

Oops, I just posted before I read this.
I think it can only be a doorbell camera that captured them, maybe belonging to a nearby house, not enough info to show his direction of travel.
Even blood droplets from both would not prove they bled at the same time, right? I doubt he was losing blood, he had enough to travel afoot for hours.
Moo
I know LE stated they have no video of Liz’ but possibly they don’t want to reveal that mom or a neighbor did have a camera.
I can’t think of any other proof they were both outside, together. Even if a weapon was found, it doesn’t put them together. Moo

Yeah, you’re probably right. Sigh.

Have they said what the DNA of hers is that was found on him? Or what the DNA is that linked them together outside? The only thing I can think of linking them outside is blood, but I can’t see how she could have made him bleed beyond maybe a scratch.

I guess I’m hung up on they say he isn’t cooperating and they say they have this evidence but they haven’t given any details so it’s hard to be confident that they aren’t just trying to keep local people calm. I know I would panic if someone kidnapped a kid from their room in my town!

If he was being railroaded by the cops, anything short of telling the cops what they want to hear is going to = not cooperative, so that part doesn’t really impact me much.

Dang. I just don’t want to believe an uncle would do this. I don’t know who else would, and like you guys say, too many coincidences. Of course it’s him.
