Maybe she's at the hospital right now and is being evaluated ?
If she's suffered SA but is unharmed otherwise as far as injuries, broken bones, etc., wouldn't there be an effort to protect her which would include not leaking details to the media ?
In typing this I fully understand that SA would be injurious not just physical but emotionally.
And maybe her family doesn't want such details made public in order to protect her ?

Hope none of this is the case and he left Elizabeth by a rural area, and no one has rescued/found her yet.

So he will be booked on those if nothing else, whether they use them just to hold him or not remains to be seen.

That sounds like enough to hold him while Elizabeth is still missing.

This contradicts almost all the other news articles.
The others said he wouldn't even tell them his name, it was a direct quote from LE!
This is really very frustrating.
It's been 2.5 hours since LE said anything. They really need to come out and clarify the search situation and missing status.

So, this tells me he has told them she is dead, omitting specifics (as stated) to her whereabouts. I can only imagine why he’s concerned about them finding her.....

I think they finally got him talking. He doesn’t strike me as overly bright, I think it’d be relatively easy to get him chatting.

First, we would like to thank all the law enforcement agencies and volunteers who responded today and continue to search for Elizabeth Jessica Shelley, a 5-year-old white female who was last seen at 2am on Saturday and was discovered missing at 10am on the west side of Logan.
The investigation is ongoing, multiple law enforcement agencies including Cache County Sheriff, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Cache County Search and Rescue will be working through the night. At this time, we do not have any new information.
Any residents in the area between 300 south to 100 north and 300 west to 600 west that have video surveillance, including smart doorbells please check your videos and cameras specifically for the hours between 2am and noon on Saturday May 25, 2019. Please report any suspicious activity to the non-emergency dispatch number 435-753-7555, please do not call 911.

This just breaks my heart. My little girl turns 5 in just a few days. Times like this I wonder why I read and follow these threads. I hate the heartache of what this little girl's mama is going through. I hate that this little girl is not safe at home. I hate the evil in this world that compels people to do sick things to little children.

Around 3:00 p.m. officers found Whipple, however Shelley was not with him. He reportedly had some of her clothing in his possession and was taken into custody for questioning.

Hooley said Whipple is talking to investigators. He has not given specific information though, regarding where the girl may be.

What clothing of hers did he have? That is frightening because I can think of no good reason that an uncle should leave the home with his 5 yr old nieces clothing on him.
