FBI investigating homicide after body found on road outside small Utah town

DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah — Authorities are investigating a homicide after a woman was found deceased on a road outside of Whiterocks.

According to a press release from the FBI in Salt Lake City, the body of a female was discovered on a road northwest of Whiterocks Wednesday.

“The body was found under suspicious circumstances and is being investigated as a homicide,” the press release states.
The death is being investigated by the FBI, the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. While Whiterocks is in Uintah County, the community is not far from the Duchesne County line.

Whiterocks is within The Uintah and Ouray Reservation.

Police say 20-year-old Sukakee Manyhides was found deceased on a road northwest of Whiterocks Wednesday, and they say her body was found under “suspicious circumstances.”

Authorities have not provided any details regarding the cause and manner of her death or elaborated on what made the discovery suspicious.
According to a press release from the FBI in Salt Lake City, 30-year-old Zhondee Nephi was arrested early Saturday morning and is in tribal custody.
Authorities are searching for 33-year-old Drew Black, who is a person of interest in the homicide case.

Zhondee Nephi, 30, was arrested Saturday morning and remained in tribal custody Saturday evening, officials said.

Investigators from the sheriff’s office, FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are seeking to locate Drew Black (also goes by Drew Cuch), 33, who they consider a person of interest in the case.

Investigators are still looking for Black as a person of interest in the case.

Black also goes by the name Drew Cuch. Investigators said he no longer has long hair as depicted in the May 2017 bookings photo shown in this report.
