Susan Powell's friend, Kiirsi Hellewell, said she saw her Sunday afternoon walking home from church, which Josh Powell did not attend. JoVonna Owings said she had dinner with the couple and their children around 4 p.m. and that Susan Powell was wearing a long-sleeve black shirt and black pants.

As indicated in this post, the dinner guest was JoVonna Owings. I don't believe I've seen her name mentioned anywhere else.

Now, if they were supposed to fast until dinner, isn't 4 p.m. kind of early? Or is that normal?

Why would they eat at 4 p.m., and he takes them out to eat (AGAIN!?), arriving home (per neighbor) at 8:30???????

I smell something not right here.

there are two lds church houses within about .5 miles of there residence, about 10 minutes walking distance. The weather here in utah is quite erattic it warms up before a storm, so as i recall sunday afternoon was cold but still bearable for a .5 mile walk.

Maybe it was that walk that caused Susan's ear-ache to flare up, making her feel sick enough to take to her bed.

Yep -- the 'out to eat' thing has been bugging me right along w/ the other hinky stuff....I think we should add that to the list -- "has dinner around 4pm leaves at 5:30 to go sledding in the dark then get something to eat".

Also another thing to add to list is Dr. Fessel's post #420 -- Joshy tells Kiirsi (Susan's best friend) that he's out 'driving around with the kids' when she talks to him Monday @ 3pm (he gets home about 2 hrs later) - he does not say 'We went camping'. (At least that's what's reported).

And I found this today:

She said that winter camping trip seemed out-of-character.

"They might go camping, but they would not do it in the winter, they would not do it in the middle of night and they wouldn't do it when they were expected at work the next day," she said.

Just FWIW, I believe the statements by family and friends about Josh doing things on the spur of the moment and at odd hours is not so much part of his personality (as people have inferred) but more of his way to gain control, either of a situation or people.

Then there's Josh having his BIL speak for him. Josh is trying to control the media and public into NOT speak of him accusingly. He thinks that by BEING there he's showing he cares so that should stop any 'the husband didn't even look for his wife,' talk, but what he doesn't realize is that by BEING there AND BEING MUTE, he's pointing a red arrow right at himself!

These guys don't get it. That's why they don't have very many friends. They may be able to control a few, ie their wife and kids, but everyone else sees right through them and does NOT like them! Others only put up with them because they like their wife and kids. They usually feel sorry for them.

Susan's family most likely doesn't know what a control feak he was because they didn't live by them and when they did see them, Josh put on his 'game face.' Just like Scott Peterson, loving, cooperative, happy, willing to do anything for anyone, UNTIL you aren't looking. We found out how Scott really felt about Laci's family by the actions of HIS family towards them during that case!

Josh is really,....................TRANSPARENT! Frankly, I BET he's a real BULLY!

By the article, it seems this is coming from the 'friend' who was at dinner. Most likely the husband too. I believe I read that the friend said something about that's why they left early. But,.............it's also been said that JOSH made the dinner, which is VERY unusual.

That's another thing that sticks out in many of these cases. The husband doing something that day that is very out of the ordinary. We've seen where the husband fixed the dinner the last night, or they gave the kids money to go to the store and tell them to go to a store further away (and it wasn't normal MO), Scott Peterson going fishing 90 miles away when there were literally probably hundreds of closer fishing spots and he went in salt water in a fresh water boat and fished for sturgeon who are bottom feeders and he used lures rather than the normal 'bait.'

Yeah, these guys are real geniuses,................NOT!

But, you are correct. We need to know the EXACT TIME the friend left the residence and we go from the LAST sighting of Susan.

He probably went in a got mad at her because he had to make the kids dinner, blah, blah, blah!

oh yeah and SP did the wash, pregnant wife left for fishing trip......just like ill Susan and Josh goes camping! I am so angry! How could anyone leave a sick person? Was he angry because she was ill? and he wanted people to stay and was embarrassed???

After viewing the FB page for the "guest", she appears to be an older woman with at least 1 almost grown kid. It's interesting that neither one of the Powell's are listed as her friend. This guest certainly would not be anything other than that for Mr. P... IMO

Based on what we've seen of this guy - and his feeble story - I don't believe he's going to be able to carry this on for long. LE should be leaning on him big time until he breaks.

In August, Peterson said Susan confided in him that she and her husband were going to start marriage counseling. He said she told him Josh was very controlling.

"He's kind of in charge. He's in charge of everything: in charge of the computer, in charge of the house, in charge of the kids, in charge of her," Peterson said.

He said Susan also told him if things didn't get better by spring, she'd leave her husband. He hopes that had nothing to do with her disappearance.

"We love the Powells. We are praying for Susan," Peterson said.

not young, not pretty imo, married with one daughter listed mid twenties, the daughter has seven siblings listed, more than likely by marriage? not the mental picture i have of the "guest"...
it is really starting to snow out here (tooele county), I was planning on watching the local news but my satelite is out searching for a signal.... we have gotten about 3 inches of snow in the past couple of hours...
