This is all about CONTROL, IMHO.

There is no 'school' or 'courses' offered in how to get away with murder. There's no 'play book,' per se,...............but there are SIGNS of a murder, ie disappearing without a trace leaving behind husband, children, home, purse, cell phone, no outward signs of an abduction other than the person is gone without a trace,.................but yet there are also background noises of control, troubled marriages, talk of divorce, money problems, life insurance?, shady alibis by the spouse..........

I respect and offer my condolences to Susan's family that love and miss her. But for me, I'll only stop talking about the possibility of the 'husband' (that would be JOSH POWELL) being responsible for the disappearance of his wife Susan, when he steps up to the plate, talks to LE again, possibly a LD test, and LE is convinced he's innocent. Until that time, JOSH POWELL is the most likely POI!

JMHO
fran

PS....About the only way Josh is going to get people to stop talking about him, is when he tells the TRUTH! and where is Susan????????

snipped for space

:clap::clap: Awesome, fran.

I usually just lurk and watch all the info on these cases, but in this instance, I'd like to speak up! I love assessing everyone's opinions and thoughts. It seems that Josh did not plan his actions very well, and kind of made up his story as he went along. It may have been his anger that came to a head that Sunday - probably loss of control over his successful wife, and marital issues. He kind of "lost it" and IMO killed her, then was forced to create the missing person situation. He never went camping with those little children. Either he had to get rid of the body at that time, or took off not knowing what to do after the body had already been disposed of. He had to come back eventually with the children - he had no plan. LE already knows what the scoop is, and they are keeping it close to the vest as well they should. No need to set off an already compromised mental state of the perp, and create the potential of some crazy act like suicide/homicide. All the ducks must be in a row, so an arrest can be made without incident. He's not going anywhere. The poor children will need so much support and love - hopefully the family and their religious community will provide. May God bless this family.

The compressor was NEW and he wanted to TEST it...........maybe Josh DID plan this!
A compresser can be TESTED right in the garage!
I'm sick,,,,,,,,

A compressor, or a generator?

Now I'm confused.

Still, he would still need a power source to run the compressor out there in the woods.

Unless he has one of them power converters and he ran it from his car battery. Not practical, though.

Someone Josh currently worked with has been quoted in the press. It was also this employer's Christmas party that Josh and Susan attended the Saturday evening before she went missing on Sunday.

Maybe there is some misinformation going around about his current employment status.

Maybe Josh was going to take on a second job for the holiday season? Or wanted his wife to think he was, anyway.

Hmm... the wet spot was not in the bedroom, but in the living room.

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/705351425/Police-found-wet-spot-in-Powells-home.html

There are so many things wrong with this sentence from the article:

Cox said the presence of the wet spot initially gave him hope the family may have simply rushed to the hospital after an accident.

If, and that's a big if, there was an accident, why would any normal person possibly clean and take out and set up 2 fans before going to the hospital. I hear where he's coming from -- grasping at straws. But it's time to look at this realistically.

Does anyone know where the babies are? Please tell me there not with the dad!

Thx.

:furious: Or (sorry if this has already been said) maybe this is truly another Mark Hacking case.

Maybe JP had been given an ultimatum to get a job (you worthless bum, you!!) ......and he LIED, saying that he got one, and it started Monday morning. But rather than man-up and tell the truth, JP killed Susan.

jmo

this also reminds me of chris coleman and his fictitious divorce papers...

Josh looks a lot like a young David Westerfield, who also went camping after murdering someone.

skeery. And Josh doesn't look at the camera in all the photos/videos I've watched. No begging, no pleading for his wife. Just "I have to get back to the kids". Grrrrrr.....

For some strange reason Josh reminds me of Scott Peterson and Mark Hackings............
everytime I see his photo.................

also can someone help me with this?
In the Lori Hacking case, she put on her special 'nightgown'
that a good Morman girl wears to bed.

I remember beng in awe, reading that.
So Susan at 12:30 am in bed, would have the same garment on.
Wouldn't Josh be able to say this?
Susan was true to he faith and would dress in her nightgown also?
I have a feeling she died in her regular clothes and not in her night gown.

Sorry.... no such nightgown exsists!
Good morman girls sleep in PJ's like anyone else! :blowkiss:

I asked myself why would they think a wet spot indicated an accident right of the bat. Must have been a poorly wiped up blood stain.

Earlier tonight I was on the FB page for Susan and someone posted this:
Hello--This is Lee K*****r from Fox News Channel in NYC.
We are all working on this story to try and help find Susan. I am interested in
talking to someone who knows her, if you qualify, please email me at
******@foxnews.com. Thank you.

Then someone made this comment to that post:
"I do not know Susan but I I have a lead and I will e-mail it
to you after 5 p. m. MT. Look for it by 5:30. If this is not a good time period
you, let me know."

I had to run fix dinner and then got busy and just checked back
and now they posted this:
Police Contact Information
We're going to post reminders at least once a day that if you have ANY
information, leads, or tips, you need to contact the West Valley police
department immediately. We want Susan to be found so PLEASE, call them if
you know something that might help...

and this:
"Remember that if you have any information on Susan's
whereabouts to not post it here but to directly and quickly report this to the
West Valley City Police at 801-840-4000..."

I wonder if they got any breaks in the case tonight!
Let's hope.

Nothing new I don't believe, but this article was updated about 10:30 pm. This has probably been mentioned before I'm sure...Susan's father found out about the fans and the wet spot from someone who was with LE when they broke into the house because they were worried about carbon monoxide poisoning. Sounds like Josh thought that he would be able to get back to the house to finish his clean up and didn't expect anyone to call the police so soon, doesn't it?

Forgive me for not having read every message in this thread, but I do have several thoughts which are (for lack of a better word) plaguing my brain which I would like to share.

First, I learned of this story before it broke through Facebook, where a group was set up asking for help to find Susan early Monday (?)

http://www.facebook.com/inbox/?folder=[fb]messages&page=1&tid=1292610987868#/group.php?gid=198478842187&ref=mf

Second, I have read the stories from the local and national news sources, and yes, there are some local ones (KSL especially) who are notorious for bad reporting. They are so concerned with being first to get the story out there, they don't check the facts, nor do they get the full story out the first time, so they publish, re-publish, retract, redact, and publish again before it resembles a somewhat correct piece.

Third, my ex-husband was in the National Guard here in Utah, and is VERY familiar with the area JS claimed to have gone camping. When I heard he had "gone camping" in the west desert near the Pony Express Trail, and as one story indicated, near the Simpson Springs campground, I had to call my ex to ask about the mines he used to talk about.

He used to say that if someone were to kill a person and wanted to hide their body, the west desert was full of mines, and they could easily hide someone there and they would never be found. This was 8-10 years ago he told me about those mines. I asked him if that was the area where the mines were, and he said yes, but they had blown several of them in to prevent people from falling into them.

I don't know much about the abilities of dogs to find people in big, deep holes in the ground like that, and with the amount of snow we have had in the last week, how difficult that would make the search, but if Josh did do something like that with Susan, I wonder what the likelihood is they would find her.

One more thing. I also read he will be interviewed again early this week (Monday?). I am hoping that with the support of his FIL and BIL (I assume at police urging them to be supportive), he will finally crack, and hopefully lead him to where she is, because IMHO, he is definitely responsible for her disappearance.

Forgive the lengthy post...this one really bothers me. I feel for Susan's boys, her father, and the rest of her family, especially so close to Christmas.

Thank you for sharing the info on mines in the area!

And I will add, no designing a web site for his missing wife.
and
No stalwart video of him asking for people to help search.
and
No video of breaking down and crying because Susan is lost out there somewhere.
...
just the I have to get back to the kids....
.!!!.

After reading everything on this case I first thought that this was not premeditated because of JP's statements and actions. But part of me thinks this may have been planned. i have one question, was this the first big storm to hit the area? was there plenty of warning that a storm was coming? could he have set his plan in motion knowing a storm was coming and that would have made finding her body almost impossible? i also think he may have put something in her food since he cooked dinner to make her an 'easy kill'. I live out west and I've had alot of snow the past month. I remember hearing about this storm for days prior.
