Watching Channel 2 (KUTV - CBS) right now. LE still saying he is NOT a suspect or person of interest. They are talking about Scott Williams. Says the next time he meets with LE of course Scott will be with him. They just brought up the fans again. LE will not comment on the fans and keep saying they have 'very little to go on'. GRRRRRRR. Just keep saying there are very few clues, blah - blah - blah. I just hope they are playing some sort of mind game with him. At least it was the first story of the night. Last night it was about snow storms.

Are these two statements bolded above one of the same person making these statements ?!!! This woman that was over for dinner ?
no. the friend that was over for dinner hadn't known the family that long per her interview. She was helping Susan with a crochet project. And than in the middle of helping her Susan suddenly gets completely tired and asks her friend if she minds if she lays down. I see Susan being given something to make her like this.

Also, when you watch the video interview notice that the woman says that Josh was in the kitchen eating with the boys but kept walking back into the living room to check on them/talk to them. Could be he was checking to make sure Susan was eating all of her dinner!

did you watch the interview? I just don't see an affair or anything of the sort.

I do see a possible alibi to what he was thinking about doing.

you don't think so?
the thing i thought was weird was... she was talking to him on the phone around 4pm... but wouldn't say about what...
that really got my thinking.... i would NEVER call my friend's husband's cell phone... nor would my friends call MY husband's cell phone.. and she was very adamant about making sure he was portrayed a certain way.
or... i wonder if she might have done something to anger him... and he vented to her friend.. wthen she felt bad for him..
idk.. something stinks about the whole deal :waitasec:

ahh nevermind.. she called him MONDAY... maybe because she couldn't get a hold of susan..

  • #805
Just was going to post the same thing.
The friend who was at dinner appears to be quite a bit older than Josh.

According to Jovonna's facebook, she is 54.

No, I think she called it on Monday, when she was trying to hunt down Susan. This would have been after the family was reported missing.

Mr. Cox said earlier that the oldest grandson will be 5 in January. This little boy may know more than we first thought.

Agree'd!!! Even with older kids, it takes time to pack supplies, get to your camp spot, unload, set up camp, etc. I just don't see this happening with such young kids in such cold weather.

I know there is really no reason to think this, but I must admit that the possibility has crossed my mind that he might have been molesting them in some way. JMO, and just a theory.

Thankyou! That is the first thing I thought the minute I read that!!!!
and
now this was a comment on a blog so it is repeated gossip,
the blogger called JP and his family 'WIERD'
I pray someone checks the boys out for molestation!!!

Susan and her guest were eating in the living room.
Spot with fans in the living room…..
Okay … weird…
What are the chances?
Maybe Susan did get sick right then… in the living room.

Clean it up yeah…. but dry it out?
I have had many things on my carpet but I have never had to put a
fan on it to dry it out after I cleaned it up!

Also… don’t they need probable cause to get a warrant?
They had to have something besides her being missing and her phone etc.
still being there.

LOL, yeah, that's why we're all here. ;)

Now that he's lawyered up, there's no way he's going to be talking to LE again.

He was supposed to meet LE at HQ on Friday but he was a no show. Then this weekend he had his BIL and Susan's dad publicly tell people to stop focusing on the husband. :waitasec:

Now he's lawyered up.:loser:

Three guesses who the perp is and the first two don't count!

:banghead:
fran

I must admit that I'm a bit surprised and puzzled at Susan's father speaking out for Susan's husband. Is the father totally clueless here? He is also speaking out on JVM right now about what a great family they were and how good his daughter's husband is to the children. That they were a happy family. Meanwhile, Susan's friends are coming forth with information that Susan feared her husband and that he was verbally abusive and maybe more. Sometimes, I guess the parents are the last to know. I don't think I've ever seen a case where the husband appears so guilty of being involved with his wife's disappearance. This case is even more suspicious than the case where the husband's story was that he picked up a hitchhiker who then robbed the couple and just happened to shoot and kill his wife. That story was IMO BS and Susan's husband is talking total BS, IMO.

The only other post I have made on this thread was speculating on Susan's life insurance. I wonder if maybe Susan may have changed the beneficiary on her life insurance to the boys? Apparently Susan was a bit apprensive according to one post here (taking precautions). Could changing beneficiaries on her life insurance been one of those precautions?

Like some of you - I believe that Josh put something in Susan's food or drink. May not have been poison, but at least drugs. The drugs could have been a sedative and made her tired. I also tend to believe that Susan was wrapped up in something and taken out of the home while incapacitated in some way. Not at 12:30 AM, but more around the time he supposedly took the kids sledding. He came back at 8:30 PM and Susan could have already been disposed of at that time. Then he did the cleanup, IMO, left the fans on the wet spot, then left with the kids later in the night. He could have gotten rid of any evidence when he left for the last time that night.

I also just do not feel the wet spot was where blood had been cleaned up. Vomit and/or body fluids would be my guess.

Did Josh stop at a store and buy the makings for Smores, or did he already have them in the house?

So many questions with no answers. I feel this guy either killed his wife via poison or drugs, or left her incapacitated in the woods to freeze to death.

I want to see this guy arrested but do know that LE has to have conclusive or strong circumstantial evidence to arrest him and charge him. It is just a matter of time, tho.

MOO and speculation.

I'm not LE but I would say that the husband's actions and alibi along with the missing mother and the fans drying out the floor should be cause enough, shouldn't it?????:waitasec:

bbm.... yes that was what I was thinking. And I bet she had wind of the alleged camping trip and asked him about it. Perhaps LE has asked her not to descibe the context of that conversation?

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=9029772&autostart=y in the main story video (you have to click on that one to watch it) at the end the reporter said that LE classified the interview with the older child as undetermined.

As I posted earlier, I can see a Falcon Heene moment on the horizen. ITA with you.

I am thinking something easily on hand in any household like benedryl. Wonder if he washed the dishes before he went on his little vacay into the subzero temperatures? With the wet spots and fans it seems that some cleaning up was done.

I'm a bit confused about the Smore's part of his story. I guess I'm more aghast than confused. Does this mean that he planned on building a fire and roasting marshmellows outside in the freezing cold and then making Smores?
If so, then there should be remains of the campfire. There should also be evidence of human waste. To be sure, this INNOCENT father and husband could take LE to the very camping spot since he drove so many miles and for so many hours to get to this "special" (my words) spot.

Does anyone think that maybe he was planning on just taking the boys and leaving after whatever happened to their mother happened? He was going to run. In one of the articles when he finally answered when one of the family was trying to contact him after the family was reported missing, he commented that he had just been driving around with the boys. I don't think he was taking the boys camping. I think he was running. The camping story just doesn't work for me. I do believe that he took Susan with them. Maybe wrapped in something and of course, now we know that she did not make it back home. JMO.

Police to Interview Missing Woman's Husband Again

They plan to conduct another interview early this week with husband Josh Powell, who previously told police he left his wife and took his boys, ages 2 and 4, on a camping trip around midnight Dec. 6 in subfreezing temperatures. Police said he told them that they slept in a van and returned home Tuesday evening.

Just found the article on AOL's front page when I went to log in..

Yeah, in a completely bizarre interview, he said that they "went camping and cooked smores, and stuff." I think it was an interview by the guy on KUTV that is such an imbecile. He's always flailing his arms around when he covers a story, like he's Mr. Hard-Hitting Investigative Reporter. In this interview, he answered half the questions for the husband, because the husband was taking so long to answer them himself.

Seriously, the guy is apparently their lead reporter, and he is such an idiot.
