Well, God Bless Shep! That's the first time I have seen a member of the media ask what I'd like to know, in the way I'd like to ask it. Too bad BIL didn't give any real answers.

Just like Cindy Anthony didn't ask KC about Caylee's murder when she was out on bond, this BIL states he didn't really ask Josh anything. What is wrong with people?! Geesh!

Sometimes it's better for family not to ask Josh any questions and let the police do their job. It sounds like some in the family don't want to make waves in order to keep the family together.

Patty, thanks for the link to that interview. Dare I say, the BIL was much better prepared for this interview than the one he did with Shep Smith, yesterday. Of course, Matt didn't badger him, like Shep did. He looked pretty worn out tho.

When Matt asks him about JP and Susans relationship and tells him there are reports that say JP was controlling, his response was:

'Controlling is a SAFE way to describe (it or Josh)'. Very, very interesting.

When asked if Susan ever discussed this with him, he stated:

'Susan did not discuss it with me. She discussed things (perhaps it) with Jennifer, my wife. They were very close.' He pretty much admitted that Josh was controlling, only the words didn't come from Susans mouth to his ears.

Thank you for the Today video. I also think it's fear of what the answer will be that keeps people from asking. It makes me realize how brave Mark Hacking's brothers were when they got the truth out of Mark. Hopefully, Josh's family will do the same.

Susan Powell Disappearance: Relatives Preparing for Husband's Arrest
Police Say Foul Play 'Likely' in Utah Mom's Disappearance
By LISA FLETCHER and SARAH NETTER
Dec. 17, 2009

Family members say they wouldn't be surprised if Joshua Powell gets arrested in the disappearance of his wife, missing Utah mom Susan Powell.

Relatives of Joshua Powell spoke out as police in West Valley City said they now believe foul play is a "likely possibility" in her disappearance. Police say they now consider Powell a person of interest in the case.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he gets arrested in the next seven days," Joshua Powell's brother-in-law Kirk Graves told ABC News. "Even if he's innocent, there's more than he's telling us."

West Valley City Assistant Chief Craig Black told "Good Morning America" today that it was a "likely possibility" that Susan Powell's disappearance involved foul play.

"Josh's reasons for not wanting to approach the police department or come and work with us in a little more forthcoming manner have kind of generated some controversy among the officers," Black said. '"And it's something that's been questioned by the community members who have been following the case."

For those who think this was definitely pre-mediated, why do you think he didn't come up with a better alibi? And that isn't meant to be a shot at the pre-meditated idea, I really want to know what the theories are along that line so I can tumble this whole thing around again.

I am no lawyer, and I don't know the laws of premeditation.

But, does it make a defendant more guilty (or guiltier?) if a crime took a long or a short to premeditate?

I think that he may have thought on murdering her in the past, because she had hinted of divorce, and he knew he would be without FULL control of the kids, and of her, and paying child support.

Plus, he must've been one of them "you are mine and will never be anyone else's" type of guy.

Don't you love them?

He just hadn't ironed out all details of when, where, and what alibi.

But, I'm sure he may have been contemplating different scenarios to murder her for many months.

Ok so the pressers at 1 PST? I'm central so that is 11am right? I'm at work, but dont wanna miss it!

I heard another joke today on the radio about a husband killing their wife. This case has me extra sensative lately I guess, but I thought it was in poor taste really....:furious:

If you're in central time zone, it would be 3 pm your time to be 1 pm PST. Pacific is 2 hours behind central time.

WOW! Agreed! That was some great questioning!! I'll give the BIL credit, he's no longer sitting there like a "yes" man for Josh. He did admit some uncertainty. I can't imagine how I'd react to the public if it was someone in my family.

does anyone happen to have a link to the interview with joshs sister?? i seem to have missed it. tia!

also the thought of jovanna being a tattletale, sorry i dont remember who said it, but yes i think thats a good idea she could be one of the friends that likes to get in everyones business thinking that they are "helping". im not saying that she had bad intentions but imo those kinda friends usually end up causing problems eventually. i think josh and susans problems had surpassed what a friend could do to help i think the only thing that was going to help was for susan to get the he// out of there and prolly nothing is/was going to help josh, i dont think these type of guys ever change...:twocents:

Well, we've got a commenter at Komo news in Seattle and especially on their "Puyallup" neighborhood blog who keeps repeating "sounds like she ran off with another guy, happens all the time". Same comments, every story. They never respond to replies about Susan's character, what friends are saying. Also saw a nice gem about the DNA (the article failed to mention the court order) "He wouldn't have submitted DNA if he weren't innocent". Then the obligatory sounds like she ran off with another man, happens all the time.

So be certain, it's ramping up.

Maybe we should take a WS poll..."As a mother of young children, would you run off with another man and leave your children behind?" No man is worth that to me.

I'm not a lawyer either.
But I think that premeditation can happen in a second in the legal sense.

No poll. Because I think most women would vote no.
I vote no.

I have some questions and observations.

Early in the case an article said Susan had an earache and that is why she had to lie down. Does anyone have a link to that?

My understanding is that Josh and the boys have been staying at the BIL's Kirk Graves home until yesterday. If a potential murderer was staying in my home with my family I might be a little hesitant to say anything bad about him. This might be why he is opening up more now.

I really think Kirk Graves has done the right thing by not asking Josh anything. The situation could go bad in the blink of an eye or late in the night when everyone was asleep. Best to let the cops handle it.

Alot of times we have what we call "breakfast dinner" on Sundays.

I think Josh's computer is going to give up alot of information.

One of the main reason I think family is keeping their mouths shut until he is arrested is because Josh has the boys. They fear for their saftey and rightly so.

Did you notice that this video showed the "Websleuths" site stating that websites are already linking this case with the Laci Peterson case?

Capital "H".

I wish I could thank you a thousand times for saying that! My dh came in when NG was on and rolled his eyes, saying "We get it, Nancy, we get it, move on to something else already."

Personally, I don't think it merits all her airtime. Yes, its shocking and an eye opener, but Elin has the ability (and seems to be using it) to get herself away from the womanizing creep.

I think Nancy needs to focus on the Powell disappearance, or revisit some of the 'getting cold' cases involving missing people from this year.

Its pretty amazing, but I don't think I have ever switched the channel from NG more than I have in the last 2 weeks.

(bbm) Interesting too, what he said right after that...that the word "controlling" shouldn't be "overused" when referring to JP.
