I have never quite figured this girl out.

Dr. Fessel's comment was in regards to Kiirsi Hellelwell...

My comment is: Isn't it her husband who is friends with Josh? Maybe she is just trying to be neutral and still not saying anything to piz off Joshie. I do agree with posters who have said that Susan may not have told Kiirsi everything, in case Susan and Josh reconcile, she would not have wanted Kiirsi to know all.

Does anyone remember the (attempted) news interview that showed Josh walking to, and getting into, his minivan? It was a few days after Susan disappeared, and the authorities had already returned the minivan to Josh.

In the video, all you see is the reporters microphone, and Josh getting into the van (refusing to answer the reporter's questions). It shows Josh buckling his seatbelt.

On the other side of Josh, in the passenger side of the van, it shows another person sitting there- mostly in shadow- but, you can see the person in the passenger side putting on her seatbelt, too.

I'm curious about who this person with Josh is.

I saw that and wondered if it was JoVonna.

The bare-foot thing with him seems just contrary to what most people would like ~ to not have dirty shoes on the carpet! Normally one wouldn't be thinking of the germs on someone's feet, at least not in my opinion!

Josh is a germaphobe or has OCD? A perfectionist? Anyone?

Thank you so much - doesn't look like much of a 4-wheeler, does it? And BTW, where did he get money to rent a car? He gets pizzed when his wife buys Christmas presents for their boys, but somehow he has $ to rent a vehicle?

(BBM)

I've seen this mentioned a few times here, but cannot find where the information originated from.... sorry, I started reading in the middle of the thread.

OK, since many believe this is about religion, here is my question.

Why would Susan make the alleged ultimatum about getting back into the LDS religion? Why is this so important as to be a marriage deal breaker?

Because they were married in the Temple. You'd have to know the particulars of the implications to understand it's importance. :X

Elizabeth Smart's Family Reaching Out To Susan Powell's Kin

SALT LAKE CITY - As the search for Susan Powell drags on with no new clues about where the missing West Valley City mother may be, her family is getting support from the family of a high-profile disappearance.

Ed Smart said he has been speaking to Susan Powell's family in Washington state almost daily.

an YES maybe NEVER in van or car! Just put her on a sled and walked her to a cliff............makes me really wonder now.

Hundereds of miles on rental car to go to some camp, build a fire and say 'see that is wheree I camped that night'??? my alibi

May Susan R.I.P. and her sons have a happy Christmas despite their evil father.
Frozen icy roads here, hope to get to our family for the day at noon.

The spokeswoman said Susan's parents are trying to make plans to spend time with their grandsons while they are in Washington. She didn't know how long Josh and the kids would be up there.

eta: lets see if they actually get to see the kids.....

I don't think Susan put the Church ahead of her marriage as someone has indicated. She was married for time and eternity, not till death do us part. She was perfectly in her rights to expect certain behavior from Josh.

Wait. The behavior / ultimatum she expected from Josh was to get a LDS recommend and go to church on Sundays. It was NOT "get a job" nor become a "better husband / father". It was simply a couple of LDS requirements.

Sound like religion too me? And she was allegedly going to divorce Josh over this.

So, how is this NOT putting church ahead of marriage?

Susan believed if Josh got his LDS recommend and went to church on Sundays, he would automagically become a good person / husband?

I'm not sure I buy it? IMO, Josh has issues, LDS, or not.

Merry Christmas everyone!

IMO, she wanted her OLD original Josh back, after moving her away from HER FAMILY, Josh became someone Susan did not know anymore.
Been there and done that........But he was NEVER going to change........
Susan thought she could change him.

Or if he suddenly decides this would be a great day to go camping, or maybe back to Utah to help in the search.

I wish Susan's family would try to get emergency custody of those two boys TODAY, not tomorrow, before Josh subjects those children to more of his stupid ideas.

Being married in the temple, they made certain covenants with each other. She simply wanted Josh to live up to those covenants. Josh not going to church is not what she bought into and it's not what she wanted for her children.

From what has been posted, I've learned getting married in the Temple is something special. Certainly different than Las Vegas. :innocent:

What are those Temple covenants (other than the standard wedding vows)?

My question, after getting married in the Temple, must you remain LDS? So if one party no longer LDS's, does the church support a divorce? Or if both parties no longer LDS, does the church null and void your marriage?

I bet if Josh allows a visit, it will be surrounded by his family so kids can't say anything!
But I doubt if he will allow a visit.........D.Peterson,Stebic kept their kids away.
Josh could of left 4 year old see grandpa at the vigil, yet kept him hidden away from Susan's family.
Nope not gonna happen...........sad but the 4 year old is a pawn, the KEY........
4 year old was in the HOUSE when something happened to mom,
he is a witness to wet rug, cleaning and leaving to camp, sled, woods etc.
I worry about the 4 year old so much!!!
4 almost 5 year olds can hear, smell, hear and see all, even when you think they don't!!!
and at this age he will never forget what he knows either!
Hope the birds can talk!!!!

I am very afraid for those babies.

So am I!

Too many family suicide / killings going on for no reason.

And Josh may soon realize he is in a "no win" situation.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Oh, not to mention in one of his interviews, when he talked about going camping and having smores with the boys, he said "in the morning." Who in their right mind would give a 2 and 4 yo smores for breakfast?

fran

First, IMO, Josh's midnight sledding and camping story is BS. Is this is the best excuse he could come up with after driving around for two hours?

I've done crazy camping, backpacking, fishing and outdoor activities with my boys, but never midnight sledding or snow camping when they were 2 and 4.

Moms, I can assure you, first hand, that smores for breakfast do not harm kids. Neither does pancakes and eggs for dinner. If you show me one (real) newpaper article that says "Kid Dies from Eating Smores at Breakfast", I'll change my mind and post a public apology.

LOL - yes i googled the above just to be safe....

Merry Xmas

Thanks. Everyone thus far has said it is a "Temple" thing. The "particulars" is exactly what I want to learn. Unless of course it is an LDS Temple marriage secret?
