I understand that service and witnessing are big parts of the LDS faith. Having church members show up at the home to help Josh was no surprise to me. I'd gather some were there to serve; others were there to share God's word.

(snip, bbm) Great idea. Serve by offering a ride to the police station, share the Word on the way there... :thumb:

Thou shalt not kill. Ex 20:13
Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man. Gen 9:1
When anyone is guilty... he must confess. Lev 5:5
But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their fathers--their treachery against me and their hostility toward me... Lev 26:40
...and must confess the sin he has committed. Num 5:78
When anyone is guilty in any of these ways, he must confess in what way he has sinned Lev 5:5
Then I acknowledged my sin... I will confess my transgressions.. Ps 32:5
I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin

Therefore confess your sins Jms 5:16
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 Jo 1:9

I have read some of the posts regarding friends helping Josh move. I don't care about the religion and helping your fellow man. We have a young mother missing here. If she had died in a car accident would he be making such an early move? No this man thinks he is above everyone and probably thinks he is getting back at his mother for his parents divorce. I will be so elated overjoyed woman when the law press charges on him. He does not appear to have concern about Susan's well being.
I try to avoid this thread because my thoughts oh well.

Me, too. I will be so glad when he faces murder charges. I agree that he does think he is above everyone else with that little smirk on his face. He repulses me how he acts as if he is going to get away with this. I get the impression that he feels he has lost no friends. JMO

Just checking in with some ideas...

1) I keep reading on Desert News at the reader comments that a lot of people seem to think that Susan ran off on her own?

From what I've read, she seemed unhappy with marriage but was a great mother and loved her children dearly. She also left the house with no belongings and didn't take a family car or buy plane tickets on any credit cards etc.

respectfully edited

I can't believe she would have left her children with Josh and plan on never seeing them again. It seems totally out of character for her, and while I can understand that stressful situations (crumbling marriage, financial issues etc.) provoke unusual responses for people...it is hard for me to imagine a caring, loving mom like Susan just leaving her boys behind.

respectfully edited

3) I am confused about the forsenics everyone keeps talking about on here...I know they found the wet spot on the carpet, but couldn't that be immediately tested to find out if it was human urine/vomit/blood etc.? Just cut out the carpet, since the padding underneath would still be wet...even if one had fans running on it.

respectfully snipped

I"ve read somewhere that she had established a bank account or two with funds. However, I also haven't read anything else to confirm or deny that statement, either. But that still brings us back to, she probly wouldn't initially leave without her kids. If she left for a short amount of time and returned, first of all, I doubt Josh would be welcoming her back with loving arms. Second, would she be as successful to leave for the second and final time, kids with her, without any repercussions from Josh? Highly doubtful.

As for the carpet, I'm sure that was tested or is having tests on it conducted. Guess they also removed a carpet cleaner they had for testing as well.

The only place she could have gone would be Mexico, since Canada and all other international countries require a US passport on the outbound travel as well. If she did go to Mexico, she can not enter the US again without a valid passport. I really can't believe that Susan would dip out to Mexico for the rest of her life with with no Spanish knowledge/connection to country etc. The only way she can re-enter the US would be with a valid passport (which she would have to have with her, if she had one at all).

2.) Also seems that a lot of discussion is going on about Josh leaving the country to Canada with the boys to avoid any potential prosecution. Once again, him and his children would need valid passports to cross over and the US and Canada do have shared extradition laws. Josh doesn't seem to be too bright, so good luck with that buddy.

(snip, bbm) Re 1) These people are living on Fantasy Island. You are correct IMO from everything we've heard--from Susan herself via journaling, from her entire family, and everything she shared w friends anticipating this ludicrous claim--Susan would NEVER leave her boys, certainly not w Josh.

Re 2) Back to Reality IMO. Once boys safely stashed w daddy, JP is just 2 hours from Port Angeles ferry or could find other possible points of entry w/in an easy distance. Opinions on the difficulty of doing so vary.

A scary thought indeed, Tatoo. His dad no doubt is proud of his boy for not being under the influence of those gawdawful LDS (thats sarcasm on my part, just to clarify). I want to be wrong, but I can see daddy helping out his 'poor misunderstood Josh' escape justice. How ironic he also lives in a gated community. :|

Which is why he's been so tight-lipped. Probly another reason he's so anxious to move out of state. Sounds like where he's moving to in Washington isn't reporting much on the case.

:sigh Another article I missed, I see, LOL! Where was that reported? Do you remember? If not, no worries.

From page 2 of deseret article I posted earlier (bbm),

Neighbors said Josh Powell told them he'd like to finish the basement before renting or selling the house.

Friend and neighbor Ron Stagg said the decision Josh Powell has made to move in the midst of an ongoing search for Susan Powell is his to make...

IIRC, Josh's dad had full custody of all the kids following the divorce. I believe Josh is close to his father and always has been.

It's creepy to me that the majority of his adult children are living with him. Makes you wonder if they are incapable of surviving on their own without his control. Then again, it could just be that the economy has made it impossible for them to live independently.

Does anyone know why Josh's dad got full custody of all the kids? I have been wondering this all along. Was the mother unfit, just gave up the kids, or what? just curious....

From the article:
Michelle Oreno said Josh hasn't decided if he will sell the house. He's indicated to her he may want to rent it in case he ever returns to Utah.

:shakehead:

I'd also love to know who would be anxious to rent out a house where a murder likely took place.

Totally agree with you on that one. Can't imagine the families who go through such a loss, and then find out the family of the spouse who is guilty gets custody of the children. I shudder to think what 'grampa Powell' must be telling her poor boys. :shakehead:

Just twisting the knife, insult to injury IMO.

People who knew Josh before this happened say he was a non-stop talker, but now he's unusually quiet especially concerning Susan. Have you ever been trapped with a non-stop talker? You give them hints you need to go, but they just keep talking, selfishly ignoring your discomfort. Josh sounds like he was like that. Somebody needs to get him talking because once they do, he might not stop.

But we do know he wishes he could have finished the basement of the house before moving. He's so concerned with unfinished business. It's quite strange to be worried about the basement when his wife and mother of his children has been missing all this time! Could he have been worried about the basement having some clues that he forgot to get rid of?

You know curious that's a good thought, but I'm inclined to believe he's just putting out the word to avail himself of more "serving" from the community, donations of time and materials will save JP tons of money and IMO just enable him to turn a profit on his and Susan's house... ETA or alternately, rent it for more income... :furious:

O m g... JP "needs to stay busy" alright... I'm sure they can keep him "busy" for a while down at police headquarters... And if I hear ONE MORE PERSON talking about how much JOSH is "suffering" I'm going to need a bucket. :puke: Please people, wake up and smell the :coffee: your sympathies are misplaced!!!!! :banghead:

And how old were they when he was granted custody? Heck, the divorce case went on for 11 years! (if I did my math right) Thats a big chunk out of a child's life.

(bbm) From the sound of it, alot of people... afterall it would be a small sacrifice AlFresca, they know how terribly Josh is suffering--and that way they can be there waiting when Susan returns from her vacay. :snooty:

O/T- I was just thinking how the comments describing Susan seem to echo the comments I remember reading, that described Stacy Peterson... then I watch the video and blam! a blue box!
Did anyone pack the generator? or any home made cabinets?
