The video regarding the move (towards the end) says the Powell's covered from the cameras the shed in the backyard, so no one could see what they were removing from the shed. That sounds a little strange. They are not hiding from the cameras what comes out of the garage attached to the house or the house, but the shed needs privacy?

So the powell boys blocked what was being removed from the shed for what reason? Newscaster stated something like "we're not saying there is anything incriminating in there, just wanted privacy because of the personal belongings that were in the shed"

Who stores keepsakes and such in a tool shed? Most people store rakes and lawnmowers. Weird.

O/T- I was just thinking how the comments describing Susan seem to echo the comments I remember reading, that described Stacy Peterson... then I watch the video and blam! a blue box!
Did anyone pack the generator? or any home made cabinets?

Surely LE checked all boxes in shed!!! like in cold weather, frozen body.........
right under their noses?? Please say LE did check!!!

Well, one certainly wouldn't wish to pry at such an unfortunate time in Josh's grief and sorrow... why, assisting to carry that sealed, 130# cooler w/out batting an eye or asking any questions is the least any truly "supportive" friend would do... :snooty:

Given DP (perfect initials) was LE--and has more than one under his belt--I'd have to go w DP... even tho I personally find JP's sniveling even more insufferable and his phony "religiosity" nauseating.

Hmmm ... I just came acros this tidbit and wonder if Josh's daddy's anti-Mormon pamphlets made any difference or not? That or he's playing a game with the LDS.


Someone from the Washington Ward of the LDS, has already posted alerting people Josh signed up and they were all besides themselves, and felt very awkward. From the sound of that person's post, they don't want him there. They also made it clear their Ward could not be compared to the Ward he belonged to in West Valley.. My impression, they did not approve of the Bishop or the Ward's action either. It is the same church, different ward. Oh, apparently he didn't 'sign up' at the Washington Ward, he had his membership records moved.

Just checking in with some ideas...

1) I keep reading on Desert News at the reader comments that a lot of people seem to think that Susan ran off on her own?

From what I've read, she seemed unhappy with marriage but was a great mother and loved her children dearly. She also left the house with no belongings and didn't take a family car or buy plane tickets on any credit cards etc.

The only place she could have gone would be Mexico, since Canada and all other international countries require a US passport on the outbound travel as well. If she did go to Mexico, she can not enter the US again without a valid passport. I really can't believe that Susan would dip out to Mexico for the rest of her life with with no Spanish knowledge/connection to country etc. The only way she can re-enter the US would be with a valid passport (which she would have to have with her, if she had one at all).

I can't believe she would have left her children with Josh and plan on never seeing them again. It seems totally out of character for her, and while I can understand that stressful situations (crumbling marriage, financial issues etc.) provoke unusual responses for people...it is hard for me to imagine a caring, loving mom like Susan just leaving her boys behind.

What makes you think Susan would try to leave the US at all? It's a HUGE country, and easy to hide in, IF you're prepared to sever all your ties.

I agree, no way Susan would leave w/o her children, which is the main reason I don't think she left of her own accord.
