We are kind of geeky and very avid winter campers. It's not at all uncommon to plan to take any new piece of gear out on a familiar trip to test it. Usually we don't go more than two or three hours from home for such a test. Other like-minded people would understand this behavior except not on Sunday night before starting a new job.

If there was a fight, it even might make sense to take the kids and leave the house to avoid escalation. SP's dad's comments about her possibly being alive don't seem to fit with a lot of the speculation on this thread, and make me wonder all the more what they know that we don't.

Like what?

At the risk of beating a dead horse, what if he was trying to hide the generator/auger?

What's the point of hiding a generator that was already publicly acknowledged :waitasec: The auger is nothing but speculation at this time.

Seen enough people move to know that things are placed in various places before they even make it on to a moving truck. It could have been something as simple as that. jmo

What is it about Josh that inspires this kind of loyalty. We have heard this story over and over.

Whether Powell had something to do with his wife's disappearance or not, "he needs some emotional support right now and I'm there for him," says Hamberg. "I don't want to think about whether he could have done the unspeakable. I don't even go there. But I'm worried about Josh as a person. He could really use some friends right now."

Perhaps it's not loyality to Josh but more about being raised not to judge others, giving the benefit of the doubt, helping a brother in need, only God knows his heart, etc. I'm sure friends/neighbor's who know him can't fathom that he'd hurt his wife. It's easy for us because we're outsiders looking in I guess.

Kiki, maybe they fall for it because they are close to the situation and cannot be objective.
On most every site, outsiders posting say the dude is guilty, guilty, guilty.

Hi Amanda :) Yea I understand there is denial on the part of victim's family, I do get that. But honestly anybody else should be able to see thru that pitiful performance (sniffling, fake sobs and awful acting) like we see in video... it's dreadful, just painful...

The more I observe of him, the more disgusted and mistrustful of him I become.

I'm all for helping the weak or those in need... and know that man looks at the outward appearance etc.. that's not it tho, it's a lack of wisdom and any ability to discern, if you ask me... but since no one did lol  guess we'll leave it there...

 You're preachin' to the choir, Sista!

Hey, did you decide if that was Steven Powell after looking at the still shot? Look at the glasses. I'd be surprised if it wasn't him.

Hey everyone,

I have been pretty busy today and still need to catch up on the last several pages of the thread, but I have been skimming and I can see that there are quite a few questions being asked and I can see that I will be able to help answer several of them.

I am very tired and need to get to bed but I will prepare a long post in the morning in order to clear up any rumours or questions. Thanks!

Oh, I am also going to try to sketch out a floor plan of Josh and Susans house and see if my hubby can help me scan it in to the computer so you can all see what the layout is like. Thanks for being patient!

Breathe I'm still working on that, there are a couple photos of SP in plastic rimmed glasses which may resemble those worn by Red Coat... it's just such poor quality photo from video it's hard to even say if they are glasses or sunglasses.

Wonder how much JP paid someone to take the photo lookin all happy at the LDS breakfast together the day before...

Seriously, do we know who captured this last known photo of Susan?

It was taken just the day prior to her disappearance. :(

Guess Joshy was still going along for appearances' sake...

Can you clairify something for me please? Was Josh attending church with Susan but not very often? Or had he just not gotten his temple recommend? I was under the impression that he had stopped going to church. But He went to breakfast with Susan and the boys at their ward the day before she disappeared. (And yet the next day he forgot it was Sunday.) Did he attend church just for the fun things?

(bbm) I was under this impression too, I find it interesting he attended that day. That, coupled with attention he lavished on Susan in front of Jovanna

Afaik I didn't think JP had days confused on Sunday or that this was the reason he missed church that am... it was the following day Monday when he missed work that Josh claimed he thought was Sunday...

I'm still wondering what was behind CCox's comment re reluctance to ever "push" Josh and how JP doesn't respond well to this...

What do we know re an arrest that was made at one point... wonder what sort of an incident this was??

I hope OK can clear up how long it had been since he attended church and how often he went to the fun things.
