That really seems to fit but I wonder why someone would dump his body and not take the money? Could he have sold the car for $3000 and the person he sold it to was the one seen driving the car in Vernal? He did not have his name on the car registration since he just bought it himself, so the car sale could be an illegal sale or to someone else that also didn't plan to register it. Maybe he was alive when the person who bought the car last saw him? There is nothing on NAMUS that say this was a homicide, although the location and presence of a bat seem suspicious. MOO.
Considering he left San Diego in some kind of upset, and he seems to like the outdoors, I think suicide is on the table.
That's a good thought about selling the car to somebody.
Added: Sold the car to somebody, had them drop him somewhere he could walk to a remote location. The photos of the area make it look very beautiful.
