How does that work with the FBI coming in on a case? Does the local law enforcement call them in? What determines WHEN the FBI is called in and when they aren't? There are alot of people in Virginia still missing and I haven't heard about the FBI being called in on those cases. So what made this one so different? And why haven't we heard pleas from the family or from her friends as has been the case in some of the other missing people we've kept up with in the past? Has the FBI told everybody to keep away from the media?

Good questions
This young girl had NO idea who she was conversing with..

Bedford County has been really aggressive in persuing online predators and even Shaq was an honorary member of law enforcement so I'm wondering if the FBI is on the trail of a predator?

Don't most young people have a BFF that they confide in?

I am wondering if she was stalked and nabbed rather than met someone, JMO and just a thought

You may also contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.

Is that normal I wonder?

It's the same place she was last seen and the same pants she had on when she went missing. Is this a potential stalker?

I too consider the images she has on her twitter pornographic. I mean not to be too blunt and if I can't say this please delete, but there is a woman licking a mans penis, which you can clearly see, how is that not pornographic?
I agree that no matter what she has on there that doesn't make her case any less serious and whatever happened to her is not her fault. Just like if a stripper turns up missing that doesn't mean that she deserved it and every lead shouldn't be followed and taken seriously.

It appears on all the FBI posters :seeya:

most likely her car is on the fbi flier to get tips from people who may have seen the car. :twocents:

If she had a hair appointment for extensions (posted upstream) I would not see her missing that? She was big into how she looked based on what I am seeing.

Did she maybe go to her work to pick up something she forgot???? (car found near where she works)

So was the theatre that the car was found still up and running? Can't believe that they didn't have cameras there!

That is what aggravates me the most about these cases - it seems like they always, always, always have no cameras! Maybe the perp worked at the movies before and knew they didn't have any cameras and told her to park her car there and meet him at the apartment complex? I just have a feeling that she parked her car there and met up with someone at the apartment complex/club house and from there who knows what happened...but I just don't think it's good. I just hope they find her soon and give her family some answers.

Sidenote: It's kind of weird how this case blew up without hearing a lot from the family.

I, too, wondered if the car was placed in this location BECAUSE someone knew there were no cameras...

speaking of family...

does Alexis have any siblings?...

Like a brother whose friend could have taken an intense interest in her?

Just some thoughts...

sbm

And just like when a stripper goes missing...
The concern is about that guy who saw these things and developed a fantasy.
Then decided to act on that fantasy by abducting and raping the young girl. :twocents:

Could someone with more experience than I have, tell me if the American Embassy or Consulate is normal to have on a poster of someone missing within the U.S.?

Analogizing her online behavior with that of a stripper is disingenouos. Can we please stop debating whether the material was 'pornographic'? Some of us think it wasn't and some of us think is was. The point is that HER pictures weren't even close to pornographic, HER behavior wasn't stripper-ish or prostitute-ish, and that her online activity is probably on par with most attractive, attention-seeking girls her age.

She seems to be a reasonably intelligent, articulate, and relatively responsible student athlete who is perhaps a bit naive to the world. Nothing more.
