Analogizing her online behavior with that of a stripper is disingenouos. Can we please stop debating whether the material was 'pornographic'? Some of us think it wasn't and some of us think is was. The point is that HER pictures weren't even close to pornographic, HER behavior wasn't stripper-ish or prostitute-ish, and that her online activity is probably on par with most attractive, attention-seeking girls her age.

She seems to be a reasonably intelligent, articulate, and relatively responsible student athlete who is perhaps a bit naive to the world. Nothing more.

I'm sorry if what I wrote seemed insincere or wrong. I wasn't trying to compare her to a stripper, I was speaking of the images on her page. And the point I was trying to make was does it really matter? She still needs to be found no matter whats on her page or what her behavior was like.

Having looked at the pics, i can certainly agree that none of her pics were pornographic.
That isn't the issue here for me.

I do not know how all young girls act that are attractive, possibly you are right.

And I can only hope that most have enough respect for themselves that they would not allow a boy or a man that they did not know to speak to them like that, but maybe that comes as a girl matures.

The only reason i looked at her site or have any interest in it at all is because of her interactions with so many people , many posting as anonymous

I must be getting old as I don't get the ask.fm thing.
I have a 9 year old daughter and she is going to be on lock down until she is 30. Not really but today's world is very scary and I personally don't want anyone to know things about me unless they are a part of my life, not sure why people put their self's out there so much.

Anyway this story doesn't sound like going to end well, though I hope it does.

As far as motive I strongly believe it matters.
I think there is a good chance the answer to her disappearance is in those comments. :twocents:

I had a key stroke logging program on my daughters computer at that age. She never had anything I needed to freak about but I wasn't going to take any chances.

Mabye he meant Liberty University in Lynchburg? Probably not though, most locals would refer to it as LU. And since the Liberty gas station is so close to her house that makes more sense.

I wonder if the parents are staying out of the spotlight b/c they might get criticized for her online stuff. I can't help but be somewhat judgmental about that. No way a child who was living under my roof would have that stuff out there. Anyone can see it. Everyone can get on there and look-they should have. I realize "a lot" of teens do this kind of thing, but I judge their parents too. It's inviting so many problems and danger-plus I would be embarressed.

Just saw that Morgan Harrington's mom will be talking on the Roanoke 6pm news-the police have apparently been in contact with her. For those who don't know, the Harrington's set up an organization called "Help Save the Next Girl".

This is quickly turning into a character debate when it doesn't have to.

The facts of her online persona are:
1. She posted sexualized photos of herself in an unblocked, open to the public site.
2. She has 11,000+ followers on twitter. (Which is way higher than average for a non- celebrity).
3. She posted sexually explicit photos (not of herself though) that she labeled in such a way as to say she has had these sexual encounters or she would like to have them.
4. She claims on her ask.fm to have started doing drugs at 15 when "her life went downhill."

Debating that she is intelligent and an athlete does not alter the fact that she DID these things.

They are important to read and look at it because it gives us an idea of who she was and how she liked to present herself to others. Ask.fm shows her interacting with strangers, who post anonymously, about her sex life and what she is "into." This is risky behavior plain and simple.

Someone upthread wondered if Alexis has any siblings. From what I have learned through her twitter, she has a younger brother, who appears in the video to be about 4-6. She posted one video in particular where she shows the boy visibly upset and crying and then says that she is a terrible babysitter.

Other videos show an older male interacting with her younger brother, with one clip showing him getting hurt and the older male laughing hysterically.
