I'm sure they did...As you know, sometimes areas can be searched, but yield no results, as in the case of Gabrielle Swainson, who had been in the same area that had already been searched several times. Also, there may be new clues since Samantha...

Sorry to jump in...I was just reading through the thread and did a ..screech... halt... backup... upon reading this post. With all the reports of the I29 stalker and speculation about how RAT might have attracted her, this seems highly relevant. Thanks for posting it astrid.

Do you think that he ever posed as a park ranger? With that truck (with the camo on it) and the possibility of "equipment" (antennas and police-like lights) he may have appeared to look like "the law" I can't tell you how many times I have seen a park ranger in my rearview (thinking it was a cop) and tapped the brakes. I am not alone in thinking this because those on the highway beside me do the same.


Just a thought.........

Looking closely at the record Dhominique Ricks posted on her FB page, and the records that have been posted here, it appears his DNA should have been collected for the arson conviction. That was 2005. Unless arson isn't considered a violent crime in VA.

2011 - body found in old quarry in Nelson co. Near Schuyler (Walton's Mountain!). Not foul play but another spot to consider.

oh, the quarry!! Sooooo many memories... yeah, schylur quarries... I think there is a train in the bottom of one... lots of cars... we used to stupidly jump of the top of a crane into the quarries... there are other quarries, smaller ones over in the western part of the county too... off 151 area

I thought about this, too, and agree. There must be more. I believe the online system only goes back so far. It will take some leg work at some court houses to dig up the rest, I'm thinking.

Well, now you all have me convinced that she did start out for Lburg, which actually is the worse case scenario because after you get past the pizza place on the south side, there's basically nothing. The MS/HS are the only major institution after that location, but are set high up on a hill and if they have surveillance, I can't see it capturing footage from the road. Very scary scenario for anybody, but less a teenager.

Actually 29 runs through the county of Amherst before getting to Lynchburg... Mad Heights is in southern part of county... and the twon of Amherst is before Madison Heights... Town of Amherst also has Route 60 running through it as well which goes up to Blue Ridge Parkway... (29 and 60 cross each other) In town of Amherst there is another High School, another Food Lion, several banks, post offices, gas stations, motel, lots of restaurants, etc.... and before you get to Amherst is Colleen which has gas stations, Medical Center, Drive up Tastee Freeze type eatery (Colleen Drive in) etc... and all along 29 south between lovingston and Amherst is ton of road construction where they are replacing several large bridges crossing over the tye river and buffalo forks river..

I first found out about this case on twitter and proceeded to google her name and RAT's and this was the first link to pop up. YAY!

Anyway, this case has fully taken over my life for the past few days. I can't stop refreshing the web hoping and praying for more information, hopefully a positive recovery. Having just graduated undergrad and entering into law school next week, what a way to kick it off, huh?

Reading this board it is not a doubt im my mind that we have gotten a serial killer/rapist off the streets. Until this case concludes, I will remain hopeful for a positive outcome, while also mentally prepping myself for the worst. I am so glad that this case has gained national attention. Nancy Grace will be covering this story tonight and we all know she plays ZERO games when it comes to missing children. I hope RAT can find it in himself to give up her (and his other victims) whereabouts to provide some closure for the families. That is the absolute least he can do.

I am a true believe that everything happens for a reason. God is using AM for a much larger purpose than what's a hand. This case got, what I believe, the R29 stalker off the streets and it will also bring about much awareness.

Not here to offer any scenarios, you guys are experts at that. Just here hanging on to hope.

well those such as the hardees the dialysis center, dollar general, etc. all are along 29 and may have had cameras and if so they certainly could see 29 from there...

Man, I need to start bookmarking links, but I think this was a vehicle arson. And, I believe he wasn't charged until nearly 2 years after the incident. Could have been an insurance fraud situation? Not sure it would have been considered violent - in terms of warranting DNA. Speculating again.
