I think an 18 yr old valedictorian would know the reason for cutting up a card. And it would make no sense that she would cut it in pieces, but then leave her ENTIRE NAME in tact. I think virtually every teen could figure that was a no-no. JMO

AJ wasn't her class valedictorian. That was John Herrick.

But she was an honors student...obviously a very smart girl...and you make an excellent point here. :)

I have to call it a night. This case is exhausting. :( AJ, girl, if you're out there reading....... call someone & let them know it's all good. Tons of people who don't even know you, care about you and your well being. If you can, just let everyone know you're okay. Okay?

I'm not saying that AJ was the one who actually cut the card. I don't know who cut it. :)

Has it been confirmed that AJ was a valedictorian? I know there had been prior discussion about whether this is accurate.

Sorry to be nit picky, but according to WH he was not there when the first debit card piece was found.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1025uXR2A4W5cOl08c74yyTAfnP2z2upQdFdywZTtyEw/edit?pli=1

Both times, he was not there to see the cards noticed at first. The first day, his brother was there taking the "wide-arm" picture while Hadsell was 'away'. The second day he documented the run over smaller pieces, after they were bought to his attention. If I'm reading it correctly?

I personally entertain no theories about A and C with respect to them having done anything to AJ. Do I think they are squeaky clean and perfect? Probably not. But I firmly believe that WH is a master manipulator who preyed on these kids love and dedication to their friend. He sets everyone up to do his bidding, imo....whether they know it or not. Who lead the searches? Who put these kids where they would find evidence? Who told these kids what to look for? WH did that!

CA was in an entirely different category & family dynamic. To this day there are still things that have not been made public by those that knew her and her parents. That being said, she did her share of lying that threw LE off base. Just like in this case.

yep that's the comparison i was making. lurking on the CA case brought me to WS :)

What semester was this for AJ?

Also along that same line of thinking, its not unusual at all for college students, even ones as bright as AJ, to take out student loans. Im not saying she did or she didnt but I think it bears looking into.

Which semester she was in also determines when she would receive her student loans. This can also vary wildly from college to college

Many colleges are loathe to give first year students all of their funds until after the last day to withdraw has passed. This is because some kids sign up for classes, get the loan and then stop going. Its a case of a misguided few ruining it for everyone else.

Im a current college student myself so I am speaking from personal experience here. My son is in his first semester as well and just got one of his checks today.

Students are given the option of direct deposit, a check or a money card loaded with the funds. The loans can be substantial as well, typically anywhere from 1000 to 5500 dollars.

Im mentioning this because if AJ had gotten her student loan check just before spring break she wouldnt need to borrow money from WH at all.

I think LE should look into this because it could end up shooting a pretty big hole in WH's story and/or provide us some clues as to her whereabouts.

One resource I've learned of through Websleuths is 1-800-RUNAWAY. You can leave a message, and runaways can also relay a message through their service. Zach and Brenchen, this might be a simple and concrete step you could take. If you do, and I am sure the counselors can advise further, but you would also want to publicize through social media, AJ'S friends, etc. because the other piece is to let her know to call in. Just a thought.

I read it somewhere. But her gold scarves that she wore often denote the tip top of the honors society during graduation. She was definitely in the top of her graduating class, imo.

His insinuatiin to what he said he wanted to do instead of just the B&E because he thought AJ could be there keeps bringing me to the two women found dead in Chesapeake. There were white cars in the driveway. One with the trunk open a little. There is rumor that the women sold drugs, pills, heroine etc. They found bullets and I am curious if they were 9mm....no gun was mentioned on the news report as being found at the scene of the crime.

http://wtkr.com/2015/03/31/medical-examiner-women-found-dead-in-chesapeake-home-were-shot-to-death/

Does anyone else feel this could be related somehow or is it just me?

I think it is all connected....the clothes on the side of the road, this shooting (gun), white car.....only 10 miles apart the shooting and the clothes. moo

[Frosh Spring, right after Spring Break, not looking forward to training, the cold apparently, and maybe with injuries that were to be addressed in the summer, yet to confirm]

Also along that same line of thinking, its not unusual at all for college students, even ones as bright as AJ, to take out student loans.

[She had aid, which requires parental financial info, not sure how much of it was scholarships/grants]

Her card being trashed made me wonder if Hadsell may have seen her aid as a cash cow of sorts, from early on. That's why I think mention of the $200 may have been to cover his own tracks on withdrawals or something.

What if AJ tried to spend money she'd already received/expected and discovered some missing/unavailable? Maybe she was never asking for a loan. Maybe she was trying to recover something she felt she was owed. (If she indeed asked for money at all). I'm still new to this, so I'm skittish about what I can and cannot say. (Sigh)
