The fact that the family received the tip about the clothing then Went to the location themselves is not how these searches usually take place. After the family found items they believe belong to AJ they notified LE. The "tip" should have been called in to the NPD in the first place and even if the "tip" was given to the family they should have forwarded that info to LE rather than taking it upon themselves to search that area. He's been held on contempt of court charges involving non payment of child support until, as we have been led to believe, the other charges can stick. Its a common practice to hold someone on other charges....not saying this is the case here. ...

Do cops ever arrest people for minor charges just to get them behind bars as soon as possible only to add more serious charges later?

Yeah he probably made threats to whoever they said they found the jacket in the house; however, if the reports of a jacket found during the new search he made a hasty decision in that one.

Only thing I can think of. My dad (homicide detective) used to tell me that this is very common practice.

I never ever have a good feeling when someone related to the case finds a key piece of evidence. I'll forever remember poor Brooke Bennett's case from Vermont. Her uncle planted evidence in one of the sickest ways you can imagine.

Not suggesting that's the case here, and praying that it's not.

I feel sick. I do NOT like the appearance that family went out searching on 4-wheelers before LE was called. I really hope the sequence of events did not happen that way.

They seem to be directing this show or so they think.

Awaiting forensic confirmation of the entering residence charge maybe? Perhaps the other charges wouldn't have held up if they couldn't get him on that one.

On the other hand, AJ may have been found and they are making the public believe he is in custody so they can get him safely out of town. He is a marked man.

last time i was by there people were mowing lawns and going about their business so not at that time around 1230 - 1pm. not sure now. i cannot see the area where i am. i am about 5-8 minutes away from the area
