Yes but if you were never loved as a child, your parents thought of you as in the way, you will treat your child in the same manner. Based on public information, I am left wondering if that is not the case. Perhaps social services should have more authority when there is a familial history.

No. Please don't speak in absolutes like that. Many abused or neglected children grow up to be wonderful parents. Some don't, but many do.

I do agree with you that the baby was disposed of but am wondering if there is not another factor involved? Depending on the lifestyle, there could have been an accident that would have been difficult to explain. There may not have been an intentional homicide and someone did not know how to handle it and just reacted.....hence the disposal
What sites do you guys use to look up criminal records?
I go to Virginia Court Cases and use circuit court - you will be saddened by what you find but it does give you an idea of what may have happened.

You are correct. And I did not mean to make excuses for them. I think after seeing the records, I was so saddened in thinking that poor child just never really had a chance.

I have to disagree with this VERY wholeheartedly. My father, well, he wasn't the best in the world. I felt very unimportant. I'll leave it at that, but I could NEVER imagine doing anything, saying anything, or acting in such a way that ever made my children feel unloved. I think, in fact, because of the way I was treated, I go out of my way to NOT treat my children like that.

I could very well be wrong, but I really don't think the mom had anything to do with this one. I know looks can be deceiving and social media isn't always a great reflection of reality, but her older kids look happy in those photos. And why, if she was honestly trying to conceal an accidental or purposeful death, would she call the cops that night to report her missing? Why not wait until the next morning? Why not give the guy who was arrested more time to cover it all up, or whatever? None of that makes sense to me.

I personally feel that he was the only one who wanted Arieanna dead, but I don't feel he acted alone - though I do NOT think it was mom.

I think he was trying to hide a secret relationship, honestly. JMO. He was getting rid of evidence that he was having an affair.

:( Sickens me to say that.

I am happy you did not repeat the cycle; you must be an amazing person. I am hoping you had some great role models somewhere in your life. Your strength is to be admired. And your children are so lucky to be yours. Again, I did not mean to speak in absolutes - I was just so saddened by what I found in my criminal records search. I could see why and how this might have happened - but for now we really have no answers.

Not sure about who or how yet. I just look at Arieanna's sweet face and think of what could have been.

I live nearby also. I am hoping they find her before the rain starts. I am still praying for a miracle and somehow they find her alive.

If he was already visiting, maybe he said he was going to give her a kiss before leaving. Really he used that chance to take her. Bundle her up and walk right out the door while nobody is looking

This would explain why he showed up to talk to cops too. Mom would know he saw her last and call him panicking about where her daughter went and demand that he comes back.

Also explains why mom isn't talking to media. She probably knew instantly that he did something terrible to her

And this is exactly why I don't think her mom had anything to do with it. Not too smart of a guy was he if that does turn out to be true. I guess he won't be having either lady now.

I didn’t. I was determined not to and made a huge effort to break an ugly mean pattern.

<modsnip: snipped quote re sleuthing family member>

The criminal history of these folks makes me feel awful for this little girl. The ONLY positive I am seeing, is that neither has anything super recent. :/

It's insane to me as well - with that much on someone's record, they were on UNSUPERVISED probation. Um, what?!
