Found an article to share.

https://pilotonline.com/news/local/...cle_79e1112d-5f18-57f3-84bf-2e3a648546b0.html

A Navy veteran will spend the next month under the care of a government psychiatrist to determine if he is competent to stand trial on charges he kidnapped 19-year-old Ashanti Billie off Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek shortly before her death.

At the request of prosecutors, a federal magistrate on Friday ordered Eric Brown to be evaluated at a federal prison in Butner, N.C., or another suitable federal facility.
[.....]
Regardless of the outcome of the evaluation, Leonard’s order will delay Brown’s federal trial – which has not been scheduled yet. If Brown is found incompetent to stand trial, the case could remain pending for months or even years.

Looks like Blimpie fired 2 young ladies for assisting FBI. Watch the video at the link....

http://wtkr.com/2017/11/30/petition...ay-they-were-fired-after-arrest-made-in-case/

Unless there is gross negligence or doing something obviously morally wrong, or getting caught stealing from the till, or from converting Blimpie's property as his/her on, etc., there should be "cause" in the firing of an employee, and it should be told to the employee in advance -- fair warning. This makes no sense. Was s/he told not to do something & did it anyway?

I want more details. SMH.

Virginia is a 'right-to-work' state. That*means*employers can let go of employees at will, without reason or notice. Not every state in the USA is like this. Blimpie probably fired everyone who was associated with Eric.

Thanks, zannian -- now it makes sense. Not good, IMO, but it makes sense. SMH.

I guess her body was too decomposed to determine how he killed her. And insanity defense? No! He wasn't insane while in the military for over 20yrs, so how did all of a sudden become insane? Nice try, no cigar. Sickening!

There is a lady stating Eric stalked one of her friends while they were stationed on the Theodore Roosevelt Navy ship. She says he punched a girl in the face during that time and also was punished with Captain's Mast. (Captain's Mast is a session at which the captain of a naval ship hears and acts on the cases of enlisted personnel charged with committing offenses.)

She says if his military records are pulled, it will show he is a monster.

Another Google alert - sharing:

http://www.13newsnow.com/news/local...ved-to-federal-facility-in-kentucky/501514326

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Federal authorities have transferred the suspect charged in the abduction and killing of 19-year-old Ashanti Billie.

Eric Brian Brown is now in custody in another state.

13News Now was first to report Brown is now at a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility all the way in Kentucky.
[.....]
A court order from a federal judge mandated U.S. marshals transport Brown for an examination by at least one psychiatrist or licensed clinical psychologist. The purpose is to determine if Brown is mentally competent to understand the proceedings against him and assist in his defense.

Will be committed for at least 30 days.

I hope this moves forward -- much respect to Ashanti's parents

Family of woman who was kidnapped, killed want Missing Adult alert -- CBS Baltimore (includes video)

The parents of Ashanti Billie want there to be a law, similar to Amber Alerts or Silver Alerts, that are sent out for missing adults. ... House Bill 260 is unofficially known as the Ashanti Alert.

"Ashanti Bill' prefiled in [Virginia] General Assembly

The newly proposed bill would create a "Critically Missing Adult Alert Program" by Virginia State Police and local law enforcement. Part of the current draft reads:

Critically Missing Adult Alerts may be local, regional, or statewide. The initial decision to make a local Critically Missing Adult Alert shall be at the discretion of the local law-enforcement official. Prior to making a local Critically Missing Adult Alert, the local law-enforcement official shall confer with the Virginia State Police and provide information regarding the critically missing adult to the Virginia State Police. The decision to make a regional or statewide Critically Missing Adult Alert shall be at the discretion of the Virginia State Police.

"After the tragic death of Ashanti and extensive conversations with the Billie family, we saw a need for legislation to address this segment of missing persons," Delegate-elect Jones said in a statement on Friday. "Once the legislative session commences, we will continue to work alongside interested parties and legislators on both sides of the aisle to see this through.”
If it becomes law, an Ashanti Alert would mean family would not have to wait 24 hours before filing a missing person's case.

I thought you didn't have to wait 24 hours -- is that by state?

Proposal would create alerts for "Critically MIssing" Adults - Bristol Herald Courier

A Virginia state lawmaker has authored a bill that would create alerts for "critically missing" adults. ...

Virginia House Del. Jerrauld "Jay" Jones of Norfolk introduced the bill. If passed into law, it would create the "Virginia Critically Missing Adult Alert Program."

ElementalLaura, you are correct. The news article is incorrect. The waiting period is a myth. Good catch.

I also have respect for Meltony and Brandy. Both are intelligent and good communicators.

Virginia Missing Person
Family Resource Guide

"...Do not delay contacting the police to file a report when
any family member, regardless of age, goes missing.... There is /no/ waiting period to file a missing report for any person in Virginia."

This news article introduces some facts about Eric's past...

That article didn't say where Nikia Moree lives, but these two older articles do...

She lives in the Royal Mace Apartments. Those apartments are 1.1 mile away from where Ashanti's car was found. Eric left the car on Lakeside Drive and may of took a 23 minute walk to Nikia's apartment.

Interesting. I'm a little confused by the article. Did Eric Brown move in with Nikia's mother's household or Nikia's? It sounds like Nikia and her kids have their own place now, but did they in 2016?

I can see how family members would object to someone moving into an apartment situation where the space is usually already well allocated (even without any potential inappropriate behavior by the new roommate). The article states that Nikia has more than one child. I suppose it's possible that they have or had a spacious apartment with several bedrooms. Are we to glean from the article that Eric was sleeping with either Nikia or Nikia's mother?

Many of your questions may be answered from the 13newsnow (11pm Thursday, February 1) broadcast of "Who is Eric Brown".

I've done some research and can help you with one thing. The place in Chesapeake where Eric stayed as a guest is a house not an apartment.

My recommendation concerning this topic is to wait until we view the
13newsnow broadcast. After that, we'll be more prepared discuss things.
