Henrico Police searching for missing 23-year-old | 8News

The family of At’Taysiyah Dye, known as Tajah, told Henrico police they last spoke to the woman on Tuesday, January 19. The family said it is abnormal for Dye to go this long without speaking to someone in the family.

Dye’s family said she has tattoos, including a heart on her neck, rose on her left hand and an elephant on the right leg. Police added she may also be in a 2010 silver Mazda 6, sedan with unknown 30-day days.

Tajah Dye lives in Henrico County and was last seen at a restaurant off Hull Street Road in Chesterfield almost a week ago.

Two police agencies are now working together to try and find the missing 23-year-old woman.

"Her phone, her car, it's not like her to leave without telling me as her mother, anything at all," Dye's mother, who asked CBS 6 to hide her identity, said.

Surveillance footage of Dye has surfaced from Yamato's restaurant in Chesterfield in which Tajah can be seen with a man.

Dye's mom has been told that the man was recently released from federal prison.

‘She’s my everything’; Henrico mother pleading for answers after daughter vanishes | 8News

The Dye family is leaning on each other for support as they try to track down their loved one who vanished on Jan. 19. They believe she is in extreme danger, not only because At’Taysiyah is diabetic and needs her insulin, but it’s also unlike her to not communicate with her family and friends.

...
Days went by and texts remained unanswered, as well as calls and video chats. On Monday, 8News tried calling At’Taysiyah’s phone and it went straight to voicemail.

...
Trying to put the pieces together themselves, the Dye family found a small trail left behind on At’Taysiyah’s Instagram. Dye says her daughter posted a small video of her eating at a Japanese restaurant on Hull Street Road, the night she disappeared. On Sunday, Dye went to Yamato Japanese Steakhouse to ask questions and view any security camera video.

Dye says the footage showed At’Taysiyah walking into the restaurant and not long after a man walking in behind her. Dye believes the man meeting At’Taysiyah knows something.

According to Dye, on Monday, an employee at the restaurant confirmed the man in the video was sitting with At’Taysiyah and said he remembered them because he received a ten-dollar tip.

We are all hurt, we are all heartbroken,” Dye said.

On Tuesday, Dye was surrounded by her army of support, visibly shaken as she thanked the public for all their support in locating her daughter and reflected back on the memories. Dye held two pictures of At’Taysiyah and started to share the story of how to received them. Fighting back tears, Dye was overcome with emotion and At’Taysiyah’s aunt, Ma’Keisha Dye finished explaining.

“This was her last card she made for her mother. She traced her hand on it. It says, since you want me to be your baby girl so bad–Happy Mothers Day,” Ma’Keisha read aloud. “Thank you for always sticking in my corner, right or wrong, and loving me unconditionally. For that I will never put a soul before you, love you mom.”

This article is from May 17th 2021 but it does have some more information.
Per the article: Autopsy report says her death was accidental and traces of drugs were found in her system.

From the article: “She was face down in the floorboard of her car, shoes off her feet, her keys were in the ignition and her purse was with her,” Cecilia Dye shared. “It doesn’t make sense.”

Her mom doesn't believe that she did this to herself and IMO very reasonably has questions for the man who was seen with her on a date.
