"As soon as I opened up the door,
I heard BAM and just braced myself for impact," said Lockett.

?? ...imo, strange wording unless one opens a door and in one split second realization(his) and action(assault) takes place.
Prayers for Aveion's safe return.
This statement from step dad makes no sense. He opens the door, thus where does the "bam" he heard come from? A swinging anything doesn't create at bam sound, at best it would create a swoosh sound. (unless someone pushed it open so hard there was a bam if the door slammed into a wall- creating a dent, which, imo, could clearly be determined how new it was. Wouldn't an older dent show signs of age, dirt, finger prints from little kids?) A bam, imo, would be someone beating/breaking open the door. Dad clearly stated "I opened the door". Which leads me to wonder, what kind of doors do these units have? Every town home community I have seen, (and I was a licensed realtor for about 5 years) either have 9 panel glass pain doors, or a solid glass window of the same size without panels where one can see through the doors at eye level, or they have a solid door with a peep hole or a solid door with an arched half circle shaped glass paneling higher than eye level with a peep hole. I can not think of a sold door, the few times I have seen solid doors with no windows ( which, were installed by the township for low income seniors who qualified for home improvements ) without a peep hole.
Which leads me to believe, IF dad saw some 'creepy people' hanging around that he asked to leave, WHY would he open the door to strangers when he wasn't expecting anyone and ESPECIALLY after being 'concerned' about shady characters he was not comfortable with hanging around his home. It makes zero sense. Lets for a moment say even if the door did not have a peep hole(which I doubt), these are town homes. I am going to guess are no wider than 20'-25' interiors and EACH has a front window. Why, would he not look out the window to see who was at the front door?
Dads story is just not making sense to me now..........
I think I am going to see if I can find out exactly what type door these town homes have. I am also going to assume, none are 'owner occupied', or individually owned.
MBLover- do you know if these are owned by the housing development in the area, or are they private owners who have chosen to go through HUD to rent their properties? I ask because if it is a government entity, they are more likely to have the same doors, where as individual private owners would not. thanks!
