He was 8 lbs at 15 months. The pictures plastered on TV showing a chubby, happy baby are the result of a loving, nurturing foster home. At the time he was returned home, he was a healthy weight and was no longer classified as "failure to thrive". As this indicates, non-organic failure to thrive is treatable and reversible. Organic failure to thrive is indicative of a chronic condition due to medical issues and typically can not be resolved regardless of care and medical treatment.

So if I'm not misreading this... BL was not exactly truthful about what he was saying about Aveion? Was using Aveion's previous condition to gain sympathy?

:( I guess that answers the question why the photo put out to the media was date stamped 2008.

Or just more lies as some of the comments from 'friends' of ML and BL in the media reports have claimed Aveion suffered from organic failure to thrive. Clearly that is not true. Sounds to me like an excuse they gave friends who may have questioned why the baby was so tiny. When nothing was medically wrong with him.

Hmmmm mom and dad certainly don't appear as they were suffering for food. :furious:

No, the parents definitely had not missed any meals... Guess they were spending all of their time eating and could not find time to feed Aveion.

Exactly what I was thinking. Must have been one of the few of him looking "normal". Of course...if this had been an actual abduction, that photo would not have helped at all in looking for Aveion.

Also, according to his NCMEC poster, he would be 3 years old next week.

In part. Aveion did suffer from medical conditions that contributed to his physical condition at the time of his placement in foster care. However, with proper treatment and adequate physical care, he was able to overcome these medical concerns and was thriving. With that in mind it is necessary to remember that his medical problems were not "solved"; they were simply being treated properly. Without appropriate care, the same problems that contributed to his physical deterioration prior to foster care were likely to again be a significant medical concern.

I'm adding the link for TES Texas equusearch. IIRC either LE or the family has to request their assistance. As I mentioned I haven't heard much about them recently, so I have no idea what their schedule looks like. Also, WS member barb0301 volunteers with this group, so their info can be accessed through her as well. (at least last I knew she did..... )

http://texasequusearch.org/

Keeping my fingers crossed and praying hard little Aveions remains are recovered. I keep hoping to see an update here that he has been found. For those of you locals, maybe LE or family is not aware of TES... I hope you would forward their info to them. Thanks!

I keep checking the internet, Facebook, etc, hoping for some news. The upcoming weather has me a little worried.

As awful as it sounds beachlvr, the only thing I can hope with any cold or bad weather is it preserves his remains... slows down decomposition.

I can't for the life of me figure out why step dad won't fess up where Aveions remains are, unless he is hoping evidence is destroyed by the delay in finding him.

I am glad to see searchers on the ground. I wish there were more news.....

Praying tomorrow is the day they find this precious little guy.

I also can't help but wonder when the last time anyone outside of the immediate family living in that household saw Aveion and what condition he was at the time.

:(

This weather has me worried as well.

Non-locals - our ground is completely saturated. We have had lots and lots of rain and we had a snowfall about 6 weeks ago that left us 18" of snow on the ground and at that time we were completely saturated then. We had a little more snowfall a few days later and we've had more rain since then. We have had more rain today that is supposed to possibly go thru Fri. morning - with tomorrow afternoon (and into the evening) being freezing rain.

The biggest majority of the snow is finally gone here in the valley, but even as of today I've seen a few spotty places that still has snow on the ground even though we've had some 50+ degree days for the past week.

I haven't heard yet, but would suspect that we will have a potential for flooding - at least minor. But almost every stream around here seems to flow into the Roanoke River.

I pray that this child is not in or near the Roanoke River.

maybe he placed Aveion in the river or (hopefully not!) dropped from a bridge into the river and being so.. self absorbed.. maybe even too impaired, couldn't remember which way the water flows?

where ever you are little guy, please be found soon!

I believe the closest bridge over the Roanoke River is at 9th St. and Riverland Rd. But that is a heavily traveled bridge and there's no place to stop on it - 2 lanes and I believe there's a sidewalk on either side.

WSLS just reported - still no body and searchers are still searching and there is no plans to stop until they find his body.

The other thing - I'm sure LE has thought about this, but I wonder what about storm drains - like I said we've had a lot of rain and are expecting more. A lot of the storm drains also flow into the Roanoke River.

This is what I've been thinking about too, what time frame are we talking about here, was he seen that day right before the supposed abduction took place? How many hours, minutes did BL or whoever, have to take his body somewhere. MBLover, you and I are locals and I had been thinking about the Roanoke River being right in front of Jamestown. There had been warnings of flooding in some areas, especially like you say, with the 50s and melting snow, a lot of the creeks we pass on our way to work were already up, so the Roanoke River probably was, too. My stomach just won't calm down and I'm seaching everywhere for any bit of information.

My last of four children, was 8lbs4oz when she was born!

Good grief!

By 7 months, all my kids were over 25lbs.

This is really disturbing.

This poor baby.

PS snoelle Thank you for all of the information. I know that the majority of those that work at children services care about the little ones. This must be heartbreaking for all involved in this case....{hugs}fran

The more I sit here and think about this...

The news reports I've heard said they've had over 100 searchers on the ground at all times and that they are covering (or have covered) a 2 mile radius around Jamestown Place.

IMO it would be hard for BL to go any further than 2 miles - on foot - with other kids in the house. It would be hard for him to be gone for any length of time (unless that is maybe the reason why he tied up the 4 yr old... Maybe put the other young ones in a crib and shut the door...but the 4 yr old is mobile)...

I really have to wonder if he is the one who disposed of Aveion's body or if he had help in doing so - maybe handing the child off to someone to do it for him - such as his wife or someone else in his family or circle of friends.

Seems to me with that many people searching for Aveion - and have been doing so for several days - not to find one shred of evidence of a child - leads me to believe this child is not near Jamestown Place.

Other close by areas - Mill Mountain - which leads to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Rt. 116 leads to areas that are like countryside and becomes Roanoke Co. The rest of the roads that are near by basically lead back in to parts of the city.

Sorry for the rambling...just have lots of things going thru my head and I can't seem to quiet my brain.

ETA: The Forensic Astrologer who has worked on this case does not believe that Aveion is in water.

MBLover I have been sitting here thinking the same thing!!! I don't know the name of the road that goes up beside Food Lion but I have been on that road at night trying to help an abused female friend I worked with find a house that was for rent back up in that section. We turned on some road back in the country part and it was deserted looking. What you're saying makes sense...they said they had covered a two mile radius. There are quite a few different directions to go from that area. Since you and I are locals maybe we ought to get together and do some snooping and searching on our own. I'm really good at snooping around!!

Unsure if this will work but here goes. I have no clue how to do those maps with pins so this is the best I can do. Maybe someone can do one of those pin maps from this info?

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&s...rlz=1W1ADRA_en&aql=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl

I zoomed in on the aerial view at google maps. From Aveions home, it does look like just SW of the Foodlion, there is a medical facility. Carrlion (sp?) In case the link does not work, from the home exiting the only way out by the 7-11? on Bennington SE but driving in the SW direction. To riverland rd SE. The first right it looks like that is the entrance to the medical facility.

Just before the entrance off Riverland Rd SE into the medical building looks like what appears to be a dirt road. (It looks like there are quite a few unpaved roads that are not dirt bike trails but just perhaps unpaved roads?) In front of this and just SW of the medical building entrance appears to be a small cabin? or small builing of some kind. the dirt road continues BEHIND this small cabin? and goes past what looks like a heavily wooded area and continues back around to the next intersection one would get to if not turning into the medical facility.

I wonder if this area has been searched.. it looks like a close woodsy area not far from the home. I wonder if there are recent tire marks there?

Just looking for the closest wooded area to the home which would be hidden from view of nearby homes... and this area appeared that way to me from the aerial map at google.

Continuing thoughts from my post above. I can't find any other areas which appear to be heavily wooded without direct view from a home. The above area, one would have to go a bit past the first heavily wooded area and around a curve to be seen by homes. I am speaking of the homes on Rose Ave SE where the back yards appear to end at this unpaved road.

It would be unlikely any survellience from the Carilion ( sp?) medical facility would reach the distance of this dirt road and because small people can be seen walking on this path in the closest zoom available at the google map, it prolly wouldn't be all that out of the ordinary for someone coming or going to the medical facility to think seeing someone there was usual.

I wonder if anyone who had an appointment at the medical facility the day Aveion went missing noticed any one driving, walking, or? in that area that afternoon. I wonder if LE could get a list of patients who had appointments that day or if that info is unavailable do to HIPPA if LE put an appeal out via local media if anyone visiting that medical facility that afternoon saw anyone around that area that day.

Just thinking out loud........
