Nothing new on Bonnie. I thought with the "tuft of hair" there would be an arrest soon. I hope there is some progress in this case soon.

Today a judge set the date for David Black to stand trial in the murder of his estranged wife -- Bonnie. It will begin on February 29, 2016.

But today a judge in Arlington unsealed nearly a hundred pages of search warrants from the investigation, and those court documents were first obtained by ABC7 News. They reveal a deliberate, months long investigation by Arlington Police into physical and digital evidence, culminating in David Black's arrest two weeks ago. But it's clear he was the focus of the investigation from the day the crime occurred.

Search warrants detail an FBI interview with a co-worker and friend of Bonnie Black on April 17, the day she was found stabbed and murdered in her home in south Arlington. The friend telling investigators that Bonnie Black expressed serious concerns about David Black over the past year, and that he had been taking money from her, forging checks, and conducting bank fraud. The friend also saying that David Black had been making threatening statements to Bonnie, like, "you are never going to see the children again." Black reportedly said she felt as if she was in a "Scream" movie.
[...]
In a search of Bonnie Black's home after the crime, Arlington detectives discovered a distinct shoe impression in the entryway: a size 12 boot, matching David Black's shoe size. And in a warrant from months ago, investigators had not recovered the knife used in the murder, but point out that among typical items once purchased by David Black was a folding knife.

Another search warrant in this case still remains sealed: it's from a home in old town Alexandria where David Black, who works in construction, was on the job in late June. We hope to get details on that warrant sometime soon.

David Black's next court appearance is set for November 23.

WASHINGTON – Search warrants related to the fatal stabbing of an Arlington County mother and psychologist reveal that her husband’s behavior was increasingly harassing and menacing as the couple approached a final court hearing for their divorce.
[...]
Police say David Black has no alibi for his whereabouts at the time of his wife’s murder. Investigators have not yet found the murder weapon.
Ninety-five pages of documents were released Thursday detailing new information about the case. Investigators lay out their case in requests for electronic and digital information related to David Black.

In the court documents, police say that David Black has a long history of violence and arrests including as a juvenile. Last Thanksgiving, he assaulted his wife, leading to a protective order barring Black from his wife’s home.

Bonnie Black had confided in a friend that her husband had been taking money from her and forging checks. The friend also told the FBI that David Black had threatened to ruin his wife’s security clearance.
[...]
Police also learned that David Black recorded every encounter with his estranged wife and primarily communicated with her through text messages and emails.

Investigators requested access and records related to Black’s iCloud account, cellphone and various email accounts along with his accounts for Amazon and PayPal.
