Their long-distance relationship started online and ended up close and personal in an abandoned store, atop a mountain in rural Southwest Virginia.

Arrested was Scott Campbell of Franklin Township, New Jersey for the strangulation murder of Bryan David Riffe when Campbell visited him in Virginia last month.

Riffe 29, and Campbell have known eachother for some time since they met online. They were acquaintances long before this said a member of Bluefield, Virginia's LE team.

On Oct. 16, 2010, Campbell picked up Riffe in the Bluefield area and the two drove around, trying to find a private location. Eventually they stopped at an abandoned building, formerly Mary’s Drive-in, on East River Mountain near Rocky Gap...

Judge Josiah Showalter sentenced Campbell to 10 years in the Virginia Department of Corrections. He must serve at least seven years and six months of that sentence. Upon his release, he will be under supervised probation for two years.
