So sad. It sounds like Shantai had a baby in 2008. If she goes to jail for this that is a baby without mom. Though I have to wonder what kind of mother would do this is the first place.

I am still holding out hope for good news. Maybe they just stole the car and went on a crime spree but didn't harm Kevin? maybe???

Okay, horrible criminals, take the d@mn vehicle. WHY harm the driver? They could have left him behind in his mother's driveway/parking lot. Obviously, they did not.

This case is making me so sad. Likely, a new little baby girl has lost her father now, & for what?

Where is this poor man? He lived his life as a good person, dedicated his career to LE & keeping the public safe, & he definitely deserved better than whatever godforsaken thing has happened to him.

I am praying for his family & friends &, especially, for his new baby daughter.

Two of the suspects were picked up in Alexandria. An article says it was a hotel near Duke Street and I-395. There is a Comfort Inn on that corner with an IHOP on the first floor. Behind that is a Days Inn, which is cheaper.

What were they up to hiding out in Alexandria? that is a little over an hour north of Louisa, and two hours north of Ablemarle. How did the Police know they were there? Can motels share name information of guests with police after you check in?

She was missing for only a few days, I found no update as to where she might have been. Appears she may have been pregnant at the time --- don't know if she currently has a child. She was 18 in 2008, so the age would fit.

Virginia State Police have arrested three people in connection with the disappearance of Waynesboro Police Reserve Unit Captain Kevin Wayne Quick. A trio of siblings is behind bars, charged not with abduction but other crimes.

My husband said the middle one looks like the ATM photos.

Alot of the comments I saw on FB last night thought it was the middle one also. I agree that the ATM pic looks white but maybe its the angle and lighting thats distorting the shot.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WTVR) – A judge denied bond to all three Albemarle County siblings arrested in connection with the disappearance of 45-year-old police captain Kevin Quick.

Shantai Shelton, 24, Mersadies Shelton, 20, and Daniel Mathis, 18, were denied.

Mersadies Shelton and Mathis are charged with felony grand larceny in connection with Quick’s vehicle.
