Two people have pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the slaying of a Waynesboro reserve police officer. Leslie Hope Casterlow of Manassas and Anthony Lee White of Louisa are among nine people who were indicted on federal charges in the case.

Online court records show Casterlow pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice on Wednesday in federal court in Charlottesville. A statement of facts says Casterlow disposed of evidence in the slaying of 45-year-old Kevin Quick and a home invasion robbery.

White pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge.

Halisi Uhuru, one of several suspects arrested in connection with the abduction and slaying of an off-duty Waynesboro reserve police officer, told a federal judge Thursday that he wanted bond so he could care for his ailing mother and brother in Danville...

"There are no conditions on which I could release you," Hoppe said during a bond hearing in the United States District Court in Charlottesville.

Uhuru is not charged with abducting or killing Quick, but is accused of helping some of the suspects hideout from authorities by providing hotel rooms for them in Northern Virginia... Uhuru is also suspected of destroying evidence, including Quick's debit card and the .40 caliber gun used in his slaying.

I can't believe Halisi Uhuru was asking for bond. What part of criminal and 🤬🤬🤬🤬 does he not understand? I am sure Kevin's family would love to see him again too.
This is not the first time he's cried to get out.His family even wrote letters. Why do the courts put up with this? He just got released out of prison in Dec 2013
and two month's later helps cover up a murder. He is a gang member with Blood written on his face. http://wtvr.com/2014/02/07/suspects-in-missing-police-captains-death-just-released-from-prison/

Bell’s previous charges of robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon and use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime will not be pursued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Bell was charged with robberies in Bumpass, Gordonsville and Spotsylvnia.

Known as a “soldier” of the 99 Goon Syndikate, a street gang affiliated with the Bloods, Bell is identified in the gang by his enterprise-issued identification number, 103-0003.

I am just hearing this on Fox News. OMG I hope the DOJ has a good reason. Probably cutting a deal to widen their net. I would be ok with that if that is indeed the case.

  • #512
Unfortunately with Holder, you kinda got know his history. No I don't think it was to widen the net of suspects, though I would hope so as well. He was forced to resign. There's lots of history with him, and he needs to get out of that position and be gone already! Why give a resignation speech if he is STILL doing the same things that forced the resignation??? I might have to call some state folks tomorrow. This is wrong.

I think them pulling the death penalty off the table might have to do with the 3 siblings .

I cannot picture any state doing it. It has the nightmare written off over it in every direction even though they would deserve it.JMO.

The Waynesboro Police Department is remembering Reserve Unit Captain Kevin Wayne Quick, exactly one year after he disappeared and was later found murdered.

Capt. Quick's youngest brother, Jason, is also speaking out...

The six suspects in Quick's abduction and murder... are scheduled to go to trial on May 5 in federal court in Charlottesville. A federal judge ruled late last week that prosecutors can take pictures of their tattoos and use them as evidence of gang-affiliation during that trial.
